Job summary

NationsBenefits is seeking an experienced Performance Test Engineer in Hyderabad to design and execute performance tests for REST APIs, web apps, and microservices. You will analyze bottlenecks across application, database, and infrastructure layers, and define testing strategies aligned with business requirements.

Lead the creation of reusable JMeter scripts, monitor tests with APM tools, and collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to ensure scalable and reliable systems.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of performance testing experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Apache JMeter.
• Experience designing load, stress, endurance (soak), and spike tests.
• Testing REST APIs, web applications, and microservices.
• Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, WebSockets, and API performance testing.
• Experience analyzing server-side metrics (CPU, memory, disk I/O, network).
• Knowledge of SQL for database validation and performance analysis.
• Familiarity with APM tools (Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Experience CI/CD integration (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Scripting knowledge for parameterization and logic in JMeter (Groovy/BeanShell).
• Git and version control experience.
• Strong analytical and collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and spike tests using Apache JMeter.
• Analyze application performance and identify bottlenecks across application, database, and infrastructure layers.
• Define performance testing strategies, workload models, and acceptance criteria based on business and non-functional requirements.
• Create reusable and maintainable JMeter test scripts for web applications, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Monitor application performance using APM and infrastructure monitoring tools during test execution.
• Analyze test results and prepare detailed performance reports with observations, root cause analysis, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, database administrators, and infrastructure teams to resolve performance issues.
• Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous performance testing.
• Validate system scalability, stability, and reliability under expected and peak workloads.
• Participate in performance tuning discussions and recommend improvements to application architecture and infrastructure.
• Maintain performance testing documentation, scripts, and test data.

Required Skills

• Familiarity with application performance monitoring (APM) tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Grafana, or Prometheus.
• Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Strong scripting knowledge for test parameterization, correlation, and custom logic using Groovy or BeanShell in JMeter.
• Experience with Git and version control.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
