Embrace Software Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support software delivery for a financial services client. The role blends manual testing with automation across web applications, REST APIs, and an existing Windows desktop app, all within a remote, distributed delivery team.

You will own test planning, execute functional and regression tests, develop automated checks, and verify fixes to ensure release readiness across multiple concurrent projects.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software QA experience across manual and automated testing.

Embrace Finance & Banking Group serves 1,100 institutions across North America including nearly 450 financial institutions comprising of 150+ credit unions and 250+ banks, spanning the Top 50 U.S. banks as well as community financial institutions that power regional growth.

AQ2 is a pioneering SaaS product within the Embrace portfolio, delivering advanced transaction‑automation solutions across banking, utilities, property management, and nonprofit sectors. Its platform streamlines payment processing, integrates seamlessly with accounting systems, and enables efficient, automated check deposits‑helping organizations boost accuracy, speed, and operational efficiency.

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support software development projects for a financial services client. As we scale the delivery team to handle multiple concurrent projects, this role ensures that quality keeps pace with development velocity. The QA Engineer will own test planning and execution across web applications, backend/API services, and an existing Windows desktop application, combining hands‑on manual testing with the development of targeted test automation.

This is a key addition to an established delivery pod and is intended to raise overall quality, reduce defects reaching the client, and enable the team to deliver on more than one or two projects at a time with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, write, and execute manual test cases and test plans across multiple concurrent projects.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing on web applications and API/backend services.
• Test enhancements, configuration changes, and fixes to an existing Windows desktop application.
• Develop and maintain automated tests for high‑value, repetitive, and regression‑prone areas to improve coverage and speed.
• Review requirements and designs early to identify gaps, edge cases, and testability concerns before development completes.
• Log, track, and verify defects with clear, reproducible documentation; partner with developers to drive issues to resolution.
• Validate fixes and conduct release readiness checks prior to client delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, and test documentation across the team.
• Communicate test status, risks, and quality metrics clearly to the project lead and stakeholders.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in software quality assurance, covering both manual and automated testing.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, the software development lifecycle, and testing best practices.
• Hands‑on experience testing web applications and RESTful APIs (e.g., using tools such as Postman or equivalent).
• Experience testing Windows desktop applications, including validating enhancements and configuration changes.
• Experience with at least one test automation framework or tool (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar).
• Ability to write clear, structured test cases and detailed, reproducible defect reports.
• Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira or equivalent).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, able to work effectively within a distributed delivery team.
