About the Role

We're looking for a QA Engineer to test TridaPad and AgentSQL end to end: the web app, APIs, data source connectors, and AI-generated SQL.

You’ll work with Frontend, Backend, AI, Data, and Product teams from test planning through release.

What You’ll Do

Functional & Regression Testing

• Design and execute test cases based on product requirements and technical specifications.

• Test core TridaPad workflows, including SQL editing, query execution, saved queries, dashboards, and data exploration.

• Test access controls, including group permissions, view-only data-source access, and organization-level data isolation.

• Validate query sharing, API key management, scheduled queries, alert subscriptions, and notification destinations.

• Identify, reproduce, document, and track defects with clear steps, expected results, and supporting evidence.

API & Backend Testing

• Test REST APIs for response data, status codes, authentication, authorization, and error handling.

• Validate API behavior across edge cases and failure scenarios.

• Use Postman or similar tools to test and troubleshoot APIs.

• Verify API workflows involving database operations and background query execution.

Data & SQL Validation

• Use SQL to validate database records, query results, filters, joins, and aggregations.

• Verify consistency between frontend results, API responses, and underlying database records.

• Test query execution and result handling across supported data sources.

• Maintain a priority list of data sources to test during each release.

Test Automation

• Maintain and extend Cypress end-to-end tests for critical workflows.

• Fix flaky tests and improve test reliability and execution time.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Add automated coverage for new features and high-impact defects.

AI & AgentSQL Testing

• Test natural-language-to-SQL workflows across different questions, schemas, and data sources.

• Build and maintain test questions with expected results, and track AgentSQL accuracy over time.

• Check generated SQL and answers for correctness against the underlying data.

• Test how AgentSQL handles ambiguous questions, missing schema information, and invalid requests.

Production & Release Validation

• Perform release validation across development and production environments.

• Investigate production issues, reproduce defects, and help identify root causes.

• Work with engineering teams to verify fixes and prevent regressions.

Ownership

You’ll own testing activities from test planning through release validation, working closely with Frontend, Backend, AI, Data, and Product teams.

What You’ll Bring

• 3-5 years of professional experience in QA, software testing, or test engineering.

• Experience with functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.

• Experience designing test cases and maintaining automated test coverage.

• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.

• Experience validating data workflows and identifying data consistency issues.

• Understanding of authentication, authorization, permissions, and access controls.

• Experience identifying, reproducing, and documenting software defects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Cypress for end-to-end test automation.

• Working knowledge of Python and experience with pytest.

• Familiarity with visual regression testing tools.

• Experience with Postman or similar API testing tools.

• Experience testing React-based web applications.

• Experience testing analytics, SaaS, or data-intensive applications.

• Experience testing AI, LLM, or natural-language-to-SQL features.

• Experience validating applications that connect to multiple databases or external data sources.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud-based applications.
