Prohuman Technology in Bengaluru seeks an experienced QA Automation Lead to own and evolve the Playwright + TypeScript automation framework for UI and API tests. You will design scalable test architectures, enable cross-browser testing, and lead regression automation across modules while collaborating with developers and product managers to shift-left and automate new features within sprints.
The role requires 5+ years in QA automation with leadership exposure and strong API testing expertise

Key Responsibilities:
Framework Ownership & Scaling
Own and evolve the Playwright + TypeScript automation framework for both UI and API test
automation
Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and reusable test architecture page objects, API
clients, fixtures, utilities, and data-driven patterns
Establish clear project structure, coding standards, and contribution guidelines for the framework
Enable cross-browser and cross-device test execution leveraging Playwright's native multi-browser
support
Regression & Feature Automation
Lead the effort to automate the full regression suite for different module — prioritizing high-value,
high-risk flows
Collaborate with developers and product managers to shift-left — writing automation for new
features within the same sprint
Build robust API automation covering end-to-end workflows using Playwright's native API
RequestContext
Oversee the end-to-end testing lifecycle, ensuring continuous improvement in automation coverage
and execution
CI/CD & Test Infrastructure
Integrate the automation suite into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / Jenkins / GitLab CI or
equivalent)
Configure parallel execution, sharding, retry strategies, and reporting (Allure / Playwright HTML
reports) for fast, reliable feedback loops
Ensure tests run reliably in CI with proper environment management, test data strategies, and
teardown
Field Issue Resolution & Test Suite Improvement
Collaborate with the support team to investigate and reproduce field issues reported by customers
Translate field issues into automated regression tests to prevent recurrence
Continuously improve the test suite based on production feedback, customer-reported defects, and
post-mortem findings
Mentorship & Team Uplift
Mentor and upskill team members on Playwright, TypeScript, and modern test automation practices
Conduct thorough code reviews for test scripts and framework contributions
Drive knowledge-sharing sessions and maintain internal documentation/wiki for onboarding and
best practices
Quality Advocacy & Continuous Improvement
Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and design reviews — representing the QA
perspective
Identify gaps in test coverage, flaky test patterns, and environmental instabilities — and proactively
fix them
Continuously evaluate and adopt improved tools, processes, and methodologies aligned with
industry best practices
Explore and leverage AI-assisted testing tools to enhance framework capabilities, test generation,
and defect detection
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in QA automation, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java,/Typescript for test automation.
Strong experience in test automation using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Appium, JUnit,
TestNG, or similar.
Hands-on experience with Playwright for modern UI automation and cross-browser testing.
Strong knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman and Rest Assured.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Oversee the end-to-end testing lifecycle, ensuring continuous improvement in automation coverage
and execution.
Experience in performance, load, and security testing.
Proven experience in developing and maintaining automation frameworks.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience working with support teams to resolve field issues and improve products based on
customer feedback
