Job summary

Siemens Bengaluru is seeking an experienced QA Automation Lead to own test strategy, develop scalable automation across web/desktop, and drive CI/CD integration. You will lead a team of testers, collaborate with DevOps and product teams, and oversee performance, security, and API testing to ensure high quality software releases.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in QA, strong leadership, Agile/DevOps experience, and hands-on skills in Selenium, Playwright, NUnit, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve test strategy, architecture, and roadmap for complex software systems across web and desktop.
• Develop scalable and maintainable test automation frameworks and tools across multiple platforms (Web, Desktop).
• Select appropriate tools and technologies for UI, API, performance, and security testing.
• Research, evaluate emerging technologies in testing, and recommend new tools to improve effectiveness.
• Establish testing standards, best practices, and governance for automation, data management, and reporting.
• Identify and implement tools for CI/CD pipeline integration with testing.

• Mentor and guide Test engineers and Software Developers to strengthen automation and test engineering skills.
• Conduct code reviews for automation frameworks and test scripts to ensure quality and consistency.
• Act as a subject matter expert, resolving complex issues related to testing, debugging, and system integration.
• Lead technical reviews of test automation code and architect
• Implement strategies for early defect detection and prevention.
• Influence the culture of quality within the engineering organization.
• Clearly communicate testing progress, challenges, and outcomes to stakeholders.

Job description

About the role

We will take ownership for the quality assurance (QA) testing of the digital solutions. Our team will develop comprehensive test plans, conduct manual testing of product functionality, and automate test cases as needed. Additionally, we will perform regression and performance testing to ensure all software updates meet the required standards. Working closely with the R&D and Product Marketing teams, we will test new features and ensure they align with customer needs. We will also provide timely regression reports to all relevant collaborators, including R&D and Marketing, keeping them informed of testing progress and results.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and evolve overall test strategy, architecture, and roadmap for complex software systems across web and desktop.
• Develop scalable and maintainable test automation frameworks and tools across multiple platforms (Majorly on Web, Desktop).
• Select appropriate tools and technologies for UI, API, performance, and security testing.
• Research, evaluate emerging technologies and trends in testing, and recommend new tools and technologies to improve test effectiveness and efficiency.
• Establish and enforce testing standards, best practices, and governance for automation, data management, and reporting.
• Identify and implement tools for CI/CD pipeline integration with testing.
• Identify and manage technical Debt.
• Provide architectural guidance for embedding security testing practices into the lifecycle.
• Analyze and troubleshoot non-automatable scenarios, proposing design or architecture improvements.
• Collaborate with performance engineers to define robust performance and scalability testing strategies.
• Ensure continuous testing and fast feedback loops through automated quality gates.
• Implement automated test reporting and dashboards for real-time visibility into test results and reports.

• Prior experience in Oil & Gas, Safety systems domain and process industry background is advantageous for this role.
