Job summary

Iris Software in Gurugram is seeking a QA Automation Engineer with 7-8 years of testing expertise to join our automation practice and drive scalable testing solutions.

You will design and implement automation frameworks using Java, Playwright, and CI/CD, lead UI and API testing initiatives, and mentor peers to raise quality across microservices.

The role emphasizes ownership, innovation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software and faster feedback.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing automation frameworks for UI, API and data validation.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Python or C# for test automation.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and test integration.
• Proficiency in SQL for data validation and testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and enhance scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, and mobile testing.
• Lead UI automation and API testing initiatives using Playwright, REST, and SOAP.
• Define automation strategy, tools, framework architecture, and coverage.
• Implement BDD/TDD practices to improve collaboration and test maintainability.

• Mentor engineers and uplift team capabilities in automation practices.
• Ensure end-to-end quality delivery and proactive test ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and enhance scalable, extensible automation frameworks for UI, API, and mobile testing using Java/C#/Python with strong OOPS and design principles.
• Lead UI automation and API testing initiatives using Playwright, Robot Framework, REST, and SOAP services to ensure comprehensive functional and integration test coverage.
• Define automation strategy including toolchain, framework architecture, and test coverage optimization across microservices and distributed systems.
• Implement advanced BDD/TDD practices to improve collaboration, traceability, and maintainability of test suites.
• Lead integration of automation with CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and optimize pipelines for parallel execution and faster feedback.
• Own automation architecture and outcomes, including execution reliability, coverage effectiveness, and CI/CD feedback quality.
• Architect robust data-driven and keyword-driven frameworks with centralized reporting and analytics.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and enforce standards for XPath strategies, synchronization, and test stability.
• Drive database and API validation strategies ensure consistency across services and environments.
• Mentor engineers, conduct technical sessions, and uplift team capabilities in automation, frameworks, and best practices.
• Demonstrates ownership in driving quality initiatives and testing excellence.
• Collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders for successful delivery.
• Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to complex testing challenges.
• Communicates proactively to ensure stakeholder alignment and transparency.
