Job summary

Zerozilla Infotech Private limited is seeking an SDET to bridge development and quality in our fast-growing fintech startup based in Bengaluru. You will automate backend and frontend testing, while performing deep manual testing to uncover edge cases in lending workflows.

You will own the end-to-end testing lifecycle and collaborate with developers, product managers, and business teams to ensure robust, scalable fintech infra.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on automation testing (Backend + Frontend).
• Proficiency with Playwright, TypeScript, Postman, Rest Assured or similar API testing frameworks.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP and SQL for data validation.
• Working knowledge of Jira, Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Startup DNA with ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced engineering culture.

Responsibilities

• Automation Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain automation suites for backend APIs and frontend interfaces.
• Lifecycle Ownership: Own end-to-end testing lifecycle ensuring high-quality features shipped quickly.
• Fintech Rigor: Test fintech-specific compliance scenarios including loan disbursal logic and multi-step transactions.
• Strategic Strategy: Implement test strategies balancing speed with depth for rapid sprints.
• Collaborative Quality: Translate requirements into technical test coverage with cross-functional teams.
• Monitoring & Health: Track bugs, triage production issues, report health and metrics of automation.
• Final Gatekeeping: Provide final QA sign-off before deployment to UAT/Production environment.

The Role

As an SDET, you will bridge the gap between development and quality. You'll bring a strong background in automation across backend and frontend services, ensuring our fintech infrastructure remains robust and scalable. While you will lead the charge in automation, you are equally comfortable performing deep-dive manual exploratory testing to uncover critical edge cases in our lending workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Automation Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive automation suites for backend APIs and frontend interfaces using tools like Playwright, Typescript Postman, or Rest Assured.
• Lifecycle Ownership: Own the end-to-end testing lifecycle, ensuring high-quality features are shipped at startup speed.
• Fintech Rigor: Rigorously test fintech-specific compliance scenarios, including complex loan disbursal logic and multi-step transaction workflows.
• Strategic Strategy: Implement test strategies that balance execution speed with depth, ensuring maximum coverage during fast-moving sprints.
• Collaborative Quality: Partner closely with developers, product managers, and business teams to translate requirements into technical test coverage.
• Monitoring & Health: Track bugs, triage production issues, and regularly report on the health and metrics of the automation suite.
• Final Gatekeeping: Take full responsibility for providing the final QA sign-off before any deployment reaches UAT or production environments.

Technical Requirements

• Automation Expertise: 3+ year of hands-on experience in automation testing (Backend + Frontend). Tooling: Proficiency with Playwright, Typescript Postman, Rest Assured, or similar API testing frameworks.
• Core Fundamentals: Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP concepts, and SQL for validating data integrity.
• Testing Practices: Working knowledge of manual testing practices, bug tracking, and maintaining detailed test documentation.
• Workflow Integration: Familiarity with JIRA, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Startup DNA: Ability to operate with minimal supervision in a high-ownership, quality-first engineering culture.

Nice-to-Haves

• Fintech Domain: Prior experience in lending or payments systems.
• Playwright, Typescript
• Performance: Exposure to performance testing tools like JMeter or k6.
• Architecture: Experience testing complex systems with multi-tenant architecture.
• Compliance: Exposure to audit and regulatory requirements in financial applications.
