Job summary

JRD Systems in Bengaluru seeks an experienced backend/data engineer to lead the design and implementation of scalable services and data pipelines. You will craft cloud-native solutions that support large-volume data ingestion, transformation, and delivery across platforms.

You will architect and build high-performance UI backend services using Python and Flask, ensuring scalability, reliability, and governance of data flows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Strong Python and Flask backend development experience.
• Proven leadership, solution design and mentoring ability.
• Expertise in AWS services including ECR, containerization, Batch, Step Functions, Redis, DynamoDB.
• Experience with SQL and data warehousing.
• Experience with Spark, Pandas, Polars, NumPy, Metaflow.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD or similar tools.

Responsibilities

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, architecture, development, and maintenance of scalable backend services, data pipelines, and complex engineering solutions
• Design and build scalable, resilient, and maintainable data pipelines to support large-volume data ingestion, transformation, processing, and delivery across cloud-native platforms
• Optimize data pipelines for performance, throughput, cost efficiency, monitoring, and fault tolerance while ensuring secure and governed data movement
• Architect and build high-performance UI backend services using Python and Flask ensuring scalability, reliability, and responsiveness
• Ensure data quality and integrity through robust validation processes
• Strong understanding of data integration and data modeling concepts
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, review designs and code, and drive engineering best practices across the team
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, data scientists, analysts, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust technical designs
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to optimize data flow and storage for advanced analytics
• Take ownership of key modules and architecture decisions, ensuring timely delivery, high quality, maintainability, and alignment with software development best practices

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical direction
• Minimum 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with strong exposure to backend development, data engineering, advanced analytics, or cloud-native platforms
• Proven experience in technical leadership, solution design, system architecture, design reviews, and mentoring engineering teams
• Ability to define scalable architecture patterns, evaluate technical trade-offs, and guide teams through complex implementation decisions
• Proficiency in Python and experience with Flask for backend development.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming.
• AWS Proficiency is Mandatory: ECR, Containerization, Batch, Step Functions, Redis, Dynamodb
• Experience with SQL and data warehousing is desirable
• Experience with data manipulation libraries and analytical frameworks such as such as Spark, Pandas, Polars, NumPy, Metaflow
• Experience with Gitlab CI/CD or similar tools for continuous integration and deployment
