EPAM Systems Inc in Bangalore is seeking an experienced Python Backend Engineer to own the design and development of scalable backend systems. You will work on Python frameworks, leverage AWS cloud services, and mentor team members.

You will lead architecture planning, code reviews, and hands-on delivery in an Agile environment, collaborating with Product, DevOps, and Frontend teams to deliver robust, high-performance applications.

• 8+ years of backend development experience using Python.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure design.
• Proficient in databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB.

Job Title: Python Backend Engineer

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Python Backend Engineer who can take ownership of designing and developing scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python, cloud architecture using AWS, and leading backend teams in delivering robust and high-performance applications. This role will also require hands-on coding, architecture planning, and mentoring team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of backend systems using Python frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Django, Flask) and Javascript, React OR Angular
• Architect scalable and maintainable solutions leveraging AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, CloudFormation).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, DevOps, and Frontend to define and deliver system architecture.
• Ensure high standards in code quality, performance, and scalability.
• Mentor junior developers and perform regular code reviews.
• Define and enforce best practices for backend architecture, security, and data modeling.

Required Skills:

• 8+ years of professional experience in backend development using Python and React OR Angular.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and asynchronous programming.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Services and infrastructure design.
• Proficient in working with databases PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB etc.
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker, and orchestration (e.g., ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
• CI/CD pipeline design using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
