Job summary

FORVIA HELLA, Derabassi - Punjab, is seeking an experienced procurement leader to develop and execute purchasing strategies across the organization, evaluating supplier options for cost, quality and service.

The role requires 5–8 years in procurement, strong knowledge of supply chain management, and excellent negotiation and communication skills. You will drive supplier relationships and ensure timely, cost‑effective deliveries within a global automotive supply network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management.
• Proven history of effective supply management.
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Exceptional ability to conceptualize large-picture projects and foresee challenges.
• Strong problem solving, decision making and financial analysis skills.
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team setting.
• Proficiency in relevant procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with vendor management and sourcing is desired.
• Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management, such as CPP or CPSM, is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies for the organization.
• Evaluate supplier options according to prices, quality etc. and determine the best choices.
• Discover and purchase new products and check the suppliers' quality of service.
• Negotiate with external vendors to secure the most advantageous terms.
• Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries.
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure merchandise is high quality and delivered on time.
• Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
• Assess, manage and mitigate risks related to procurement.
• Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
• Coordinate with vendors for timely and cost-effective delivery of orders.
• Train and supervise junior staff in efficient procurement processes and practices.
• Collaborate with key persons to ensure all operations are in line with legal and company standards.
• Deal effectively with challenges with supplier companies or delivery schedules.
• Manage every aspect of the supply chain and notify the senior management team of any possible obstacles to ideal efficiency.
