Job Description

The Purchase Head will lead the end-to-end procurement function for a growing organization with multi-department operations, large project execution requirements, and high-value vendor coordination needs. The role is responsible for strategic sourcing, procurement planning, cost control, vendor performance, contract discipline, inventory alignment, and cross-functional coordination with projects, engineering, finance, stores, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the complete procurement function across direct and indirect categories, including materials, services, MEP items, civil inputs, finishing items, office procurement, and operational purchases.
• Build annual and project-wise procurement strategies aligned with business targets, execution timelines, cash flow priorities, and commercial objectives.
• Develop sourcing plans, negotiate with vendors, and close commercial terms covering price, quality, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranty, and service commitments.
• Establish vendor onboarding, qualification, evaluation, and review systems to improve reliability, transparency, and commercial leverage.
• Drive cost optimization through rate contracts, alternate vendor development, bulk purchasing, standardization, and demand consolidation.
• Partner with engineering, project, stores, finance, and accounts teams to ensure procurement decisions support execution without creating control gaps.
• Monitor purchase requests, comparative statements, purchase orders, approvals, dispatch tracking, inward status, and material availability.
• Ensure strong procurement governance, including documentation, approval workflows, policy compliance, audit readiness, and exception handling.
