Job summary

Royal Enfield seeks an experienced professional for the role of Assistant Manager/Deputy Manager - Projects & ME (Electrical Utility) to lead end-to-end electrical infrastructure projects across plant operations in India. The role focuses on planning, installation, testing, and commissioning of HT/LT distribution, substations, and integration of captive/renewable power sources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BE/B.Tech) with relevant electrical utility project exposure.
• 6–10 years of hands-on experience in electrical utility project execution, power distribution, and plant engineering in automotive/manufacturing environments.
• Experience with CEIG approvals, HT substation commissioning, vendor billing verification, AutoCAD drawings review, and SAP PR/PO workflows.

Responsibilities

• Plan HT/LT distribution networks, substations (11–110 kV), transformers, DG, UPS, solar, and illumination with BOQs, specs, and schedules.
• Oversee RFQs, bid evaluation, and supervise site contractors during commissioning, verify measurements and vendor billing.
• Liaise with State DISCOMs, CEIG, and Electrical Inspectorates to secure sanctions, load permits and energization clearances under IE/CEA rules.
• Lead testing and load trials for HV infrastructure and archive as-built drawings, test logs, and handover packs.
• Enforce electrical Work Permit systems, conduct HIRA/risk assessments, safety audits, and ISO/EHS compliance on site.

Position Title: Assistant Manager/ Deputy Manager - Projects & ME (Electrical Utility)

Job Description:

The Manager / Assistant Manager - Projects & ME (Electrical Utility) is responsible for the end-to-end planning, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical utility infrastructure across plant operations. The incumbent leads HT/LT power distribution projects, substation setups (up to 110 kV), captive/renewable power integration (DG, UPS, Solar), and statutory approvals with state electricity boards and electrical inspectorates (CEIG). Working cross-functionally, this role ensures strict compliance with IE rules, CEA regulations, site safety standards (EHS/HIRA), project timelines, and CAPEX budgets up to final operational handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Execution & Planning: Plan HT/LT distribution networks, substations (11-110 kV), transformers, DG sets, UPS, solar systems, and illumination while preparing BOQs, technical specs, and schedules.
• Vendor & Contractor Governance: Issue RFQs, evaluate techno-commercial bids, supervise site contractors during commissioning, verify work measurements, and approve vendor billing.
• Statutory & Regulatory Approvals: Liaise directly with State DISCOMs, CEIG, and Electrical Inspectorates to secure power sanctions, load enhancement permits, and energization clearances under IE/CEA rules.
• Testing, Commissioning & Handover: Lead testing and load trials for high-voltage infrastructure, verify system reliability, and archive as-built drawings, test logs, and handover packs.
• Safety & EHS Compliance: Enforce electrical Work Permit systems, lead HIRA/risk assessments, conduct safety audits, and maintain strict ISO/EHS compliance on site.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• Experience: 6-10 years of hands-on experience in electrical utility project execution, power distribution, and plant engineering in an automotive or heavy manufacturing environment
