Job summary

Hitachi ABB Power Grids in India invites a Project Technical Engineering Senior Professional to lead engineering for substations, overseeing small to large tenders, and coordinating with system, primary and secondary engineers, PMs, SCM, and customers.

You will drive technical solutions, assess risks, present at meetings, ensure safety and contractual compliance, and push for cost-effective engineering with global standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in B.Tech or B.E or M.Tech.
• 8-12 years’ experience in any Engineering Discipline.
• Experience with Medium to High Voltage Projects in Power System – Substations Domain.
• Knowledge of Power Systems equipment and their purpose (Power Transformers, Capacitors, Reactors, Instrument Transformer, Circuit Breakers, Disconnectors, Surge Arrestors).
• Knowledge on IEEE/IEC/GIGRE standards.
• Strong interpersonal and Presentation Skill.
• Dynamic and Proactive, willing to grow in the organization.
• Team player, ready to play the role across different countries.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.

Responsibilities

• Driving the technical solution in coordination with other departments and support Tender Manager/ Project Manager for assigned Project/Tender.
• Evaluating risks and opportunities, strategizes mitigation of engineering disciplines.
• Interacting with customers, contractors, suppliers; attends project/tender meetings and presents all technical aspects.
• Collaborating and networking with engineering colleagues; shares best practice across projects and disciplines.
• Evaluating the overall cost of the engineering disciplines and getting approved from Business Unit Head.
• Utilizing standard processes, tools, and techniques; ensuring safety regulations and contractual requirements.

Project Technical Engineering Senior Professional

Lead Engineering authority for projects/tenders with low to high complexity for Substations Engg. Complete assignments on small, medium and large projects cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications and quality standards. Coordinate with Project/Tendering team (i.e., System Engineering, Primary & Secondary Engineering), Project Managers, SCM, Civil / steel design functions, MEP, Commissioning, Consultants, End customers etc.

Your background:
