Job summary

Hitachi Energy seeks an Entry Professional in Project Technical Engineering. You will work on primary substation design for AIS & GIS, employing BIM, Navisworks, AutoCAD/REVIT, and 3D tools. You will handle layouts, grounding, and cable routings while aligning with IEEE/IEC standards.

You will verify equipment data sheets, participate in FAT/SAT, and contribute to risk assessments and engineering efficiency with English-language collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in engineering or Diploma in Electrical.
• 1 to 5 years of experience in Primary substation design.
• Proficiency in CAD design tools: BIM Tools, BIM 360, Navisworks, MicroStation, AutoCAD, AutoCAD REVIT, 3D modelling.
• Knowledge of IEEE, IEC international standards.
• Experience in substation tendering and project engineering activities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver complete engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS projects with adherence to IEC, IEEE & ANSI standards.
• Develop substation layouts, grounding, lightning, cable routings, and section drawings.
• Verify technical data sheets for primary equipment and assess vendor offers.
• Support FAT/SAT activities and risk/opportunity assessments.
• Contribute innovative ideas to reduce engineering effort and ensure compliance.

How you’ll make an impact:

Primary Engineering Deliverables. Experience in handling complete Engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS projects, Exposure to International experience & Standards IEC, IEEE & AS.

Substation layouts and section drawings, Grounding system drawings, Lightning system design, drawings, Cable routings, Cable tray routings, Clearance drawings.

Understanding of auxiliary design aspects of substations, such as LVAC / LVDC supplies, Cable sizing, Battery & Battery Charger Sizing, etc.

Technical data sheets verification of primary equipment. Knowledge of primary equipment, such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, instrument transformers, power transformers, etc.

Vendor Offer Evaluations. FAT / SAT of primary equipment, system as and when needed.

Technical risk and opportunity assessment and validation.

Innovative ideas to reduce Engineering effort.

Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

Bachelors in engineering or Diploma in Electrical.

1 to 5 years of experience in Primary substation design.

Proficiency in required CAD design tools (BIM Tools, BIM 360, Navisworks, MicroStation / AutoCAD, AutoCAD REVIT, 3D competence).

Knowledge of relevant international standards ex. IEEE, IEC,etc

Knowledge in substation tendering and project engineering activities (technical & commercial).

Individual contributors using in-depth knowledge in a specific area to execute complex or specialized projects / challenges often think independently to challenge traditional solutions.

Comprehensive knowledge of related disciplines in the organization.

Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
