Job summary

Cuculus GmbH in Germany is seeking a Project Operations Lead to own the end-to-end delivery of the HES, MDM and the full Utility IT Stack from kickoff to Go-Live and support handover. The Project Operations Lead is responsible for leading the end-to-end implementation of HES, MDM and the complete Utility IT Stack from Project Kick-off through Go-Live and Support handover. The role ensures that customer requirements are translated into a fully integrated, tested and operational solution while maintaining Cuculus delivery standards and agreed project timelines.

Working closely with the Technical Head , Project Manager , Customers and internal technical teams, the Project Operations Lead provides the technical leadership required during implementation. The role focuses on execution, coordination and operational readiness, ensuring that every project progresses smoothly towards successful deployment and customer acceptance.

What is the role about?

Technical Delivery & Implementation

The Project Operations Lead owns the technical execution of assigned projects and is responsible for coordinating all implementation activities across the technical organization. The role brings together multiple teams, manages technical dependencies and ensures that the overall solution functions as one integrated platform rather than a collection of individual products.

HES, MDM, BizFlow, ReportPlus, Prepayment and RF technologies.
External system integrations in line with the approved solution design.
Technical execution in accordance with customer requirements and Cuculus delivery standards.

Customer & Cross-Functional Coordination

The Project Operations Lead serves as the primary technical interface throughout the implementation lifecycle, working closely with customers, the Project Manager and internal functional leads. The role ensures that technical discussions are translated into actionable implementation plans and that issues are resolved proactively without affecting project timelines.

HES, MDM, Product Engineering, QA, System Engineering, Reporting, Database, Cloud and Support teams.
Technical leads to managing dependencies, track actions and maintaining implementation progress.
Customers provide technical updates and ensure timely resolution of implementation issues.

Solution Integration, Testing & Go-Live

A key responsibility of the role is to ensure that every component of the Utility IT Stack is successfully integrated, validated and ready for production deployment. The Project Operations Lead coordinates all technical testing activities, confirms that customer acceptance criteria have been met and ensures that the solution is operationally ready before Go-Live.

Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
System Integration Testing.
Production Deployment, Hypercare and Technical Handover to Support.

Standardization & Operational Excellence

Beyond project execution, the Project Operations Lead is expected to strengthen the organization's delivery capability by standardizing implementation practices and promoting continuous improvement. Every implementation should contribute to improving future projects through reusable templates, better documentation and lessons learned.

Improving implementation consistency.
Reducing deployment effort and rework.
Developing reusable templates and documentation.
Driving continuous improvement across projects.

Key Deliverables

Success in this role is measured by the ability to consistently deliver technically successful and operationally stable projects. Every implementation should conclude with a fully integrated solution, successful customer acceptance and a smooth transition into Support.

Successful implementation of HES, MDM and the complete Utility IT Stack.
End-to-end system integration and technical validation.
Successful completion of FAT, SAT, UAT and Go-Live.
Customer technical acceptance and operational readiness.
Complete implementation, deployment and Support handover documentation.
Standardized implementation practices that improve future project delivery.

Working Relationship

The Project Operations Lead reports to the Technical Head and works in close partnership with the Project Manager throughout the project lifecycle. The Technical Head provides technical leadership, governance, solution architecture and delivery standards, while the Project Manager is responsible for project governance, planning, commercial commitments, customer management and overall project execution.

Within this framework, the Project Operations Lead owns the end-to-end technical implementation by coordinating cross-functional teams, driving solution integration, testing, Go-Live readiness and Support transition. Together, these three roles operate as one delivery leadership team, ensuring every project is delivered with technical excellence, operational efficiency and high customer satisfaction.
