The Project Manager for the Sports Vertical at Con should work on selected projects in sports vertical, ensuring effective planning, implementation, and monitoring. The role involves comprehensive management across various regions, maintaining strong communication with project teams, and stakeholders. The Project Manager is responsible for achieving project objectives, optimizing resources, managing budgets under guidance, ensuring compliance, and promoting the holistic development of youth through sports.
Qualifications: 5-6 years of experience in the development sector (a degree in sports would be preferred).

Develop and refine the strategy for the Roots Sports Vertical, aligning with Roots Foundation’s mission and objectives.
Plan, design, and implement new sports programs in collaboration with the Foundation’s leadership.
Identify and assess potential growth opportunities for existing programs to maximize impact.
Oversee end-to-end project management for all sports initiatives.
Manage project timelines, ensuring all activities are executed on schedule and within the defined scope.
Implement processes to monitor program activities, project progress, and report achievements regularly.
Identify potential challenges and devise solutions to minimize risks and disruptions in project execution.
Lead, mentor, and support project teams, coaches, and field coordinators, ensuring they have the resources and training required to perform effectively.
Conduct regular team meetings to align objectives, review progress, and address operational issues.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment focused on growth, innovation, and development.
Evaluate team performance periodically, providing constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for professional development.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community leaders, school staff, and corporate partners.

Conduct regular meetings and presentations to update stakeholders on project status, impact, and challenges.
Engage parents, village leaders, and local communities to enhance support and participation in the programs.
Cultivate relationships with corporate partners, NGOs, and local institutions to enhance resource mobilization and expand project reach.
Develop, manage, and monitor the budget for each project, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines and optimizing resource utilization.
Coordinate with the finance team to track expenses, process reimbursements, and prepare financial reports for each project.
Forecast and plan for additional resource needs, advocating for funds or partnerships where necessary.
Ensure funds are allocated in alignment with project goals and utilized transparently and efficiently.
Implement robust monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems to track project performance against predefined objectives and indicators.
Collect, analyse, and report data on program impact, beneficiary progress, and project effectiveness.
Prepare detailed weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, presenting quantitative and qualitative data to demonstrate impact and achievements.
Use feedback from M&E to refine programs, adjust strategies, and enhance future project planning.
Ensure all projects comply with organizational policies, legal regulations, and donor requirements.
Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with each project, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.
Establish and maintain safety and security standards for all project sites, especially for youth participants.
Document incidents, challenges, and issues, implementing corrective actions and lessons learned.
Work closely with the communications team to promote project achievements and success stories across various channels, including social media and newsletters.
Coordinate content creation, ensuring program visibility and enhancing public awareness of the Foundation’s impact.
Advocate for sports development and youth empowerment through sports association and community engagement, events, and collaborative initiatives.
