Amazon Projects team needs in‑depth understanding of the project life cycle, including span allocation for all four pillars (assessment, design and detail, execution, and performance qualification) of any project. Key aspects of the role include site selection with the RE team, statutory and legal compliance, project safety (design and execution), value management for large and medium scale projects, and execution of various format technical projects (green field, brown field, and improvement projects).

Key job responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of all building formats and the region (East India).
• Set up new centres across different business formats, expand capacity of existing facilities, and relocate facilities as required.
• Drive 1–2 project‑management initiatives (standardization, energy‑conservation programs, productivity‑improvement measures, and project financial processes).
• Deliver projects on time and safely, ensuring highest standards and good engineering practices.
• Support the RE team with site visits and due diligence for feasibility assessment of new facilities.
• Finalize conceptual layouts and assess layout parameters from an operational perspective.
• Prepare developers’ scope of work, Amazon scope of work, cost estimates, and build‑out CapEx requests for approval.
• Finalize project management consultants (PCMs) and manage project resources.
• Work with procurement to evaluate and finalize vendors.
• Review material requirements with stakeholders and track delivery and implementation.
• Monitor progress and manage execution of onsite Amazon scope of work.
• Ensure quality of work from developers and maintain snag‑free handover to facilities.
• Collaborate with the launch team to prepare the launch of a site close to completion.
• Ensure budget adherence and safe execution at the site, avoiding overruns and targeting zero LTI.
• Prepare weekly progress reviews and reports with status updates.
• Ensure timely project closure, including commercials.

Key performance areas

• Project execution and OTIF delivery to facilitate timely launch of facilities: > 95 %
• Budget adherence and cost‑overrun control: > 95 %
• Safe execution and zero LTIs in all projects.
• Adherence to safety and statutory compliance: > 95 %
• Completion and rollout of specific project‑management initiatives on time in full.

Basic qualifications

• B.Tech in Electrical, Civil, Chemical, Mechanical or any other core function.

Preferred qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or experience in project, program or product management with focus on technical education programs.
