Job summary

WPP is hiring a Project Manager (AI Governance) to steward governance for Enterprise AI across diverse platforms and teams. You will document decisions, approvals and controls, ensuring audit-ready artefacts and robust risk management across the AI portfolio.

You will partner with Technology, Risk, Legal and Compliance to embed governance into delivery, coordinate reviews, and support internal and external audits, while operating in a hybrid office model in a multinational environment.

Qualifications

• Exposure to Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft 365 governance or digital transformation programmes.
• Experience in governance, risk, compliance, controls, audit or operational assurance within a large multinational organisation.
• Strong understanding of governance principles and audit trails.

Responsibilities

• Maintain governance evidence base for Enterprise AI, ensuring decisions, approvals, controls and artefacts are documented, traceable and audit-ready.
• Support implementation of responsible AI practices, including data handling, risk management and control requirements.
• Monitor governance view of the Enterprise AI agent estate and ensure new capabilities are registered and governed.

What you'll be doing

• Maintain the governance evidence base for Enterprise AI, ensuring decisions, approvals, controls and supporting artefacts are documented, traceable and audit-ready.
• Support the implementation of responsible AI practices, including data handling, acceptable use, risk management and control requirements.
• Monitor and maintain the governance view of the Enterprise AI agent estate, helping ensure new capabilities are appropriately registered, reviewed and governed.
• Support the development, maintenance and communication of Enterprise AI policies, standards and governance frameworks.
• Work closely with delivery and programme teams to ensure governance requirements are considered early and embedded into delivery processes.
• Coordinate governance reviews, approvals and risk assessments, ensuring issues are identified and addressed in a timely manner.
• Support internal and external audit activities by providing documentation, evidence and process visibility where required.
• Track governance actions, risks and decisions, maintaining transparency across the Enterprise AI portfolio.
• Help identify opportunities to strengthen governance processes, controls and operating practices as AI adoption continues to scale.
• Partner with stakeholders across Technology, Risk, Security, Legal and Compliance functions to support a consistent and effective governance approach.

What we're looking for

• Working exposure to Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft 365 governance or digital transformation programmes.
• Experience in governance, risk, compliance, controls, audit or operational assurance within a large multinational organisation.
• A strong understanding of governance principles and the importance of maintaining accurate records, evidence and audit trails.
• Experience working with technology, data, digital transformation or enterprise platforms in a governance-related capacity.
• Knowledge of technology risk, data handling controls and regulatory or policy-driven operating environments.
• Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail and documentation discipline.
• The ability to assess issues objectively, challenge appropriately and make balanced recommendations.
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders and providing governance oversight in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear policies, standards, governance documentation and reports.
• A proactive and pragmatic approach, balancing governance requirements with business needs and delivery timelines.

Nice to have

• Experience in a regulated, audit-scoped or highly controlled environment.
• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, responsible AI principles or emerging technology risk management.
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar workflow, governance or controls platforms.
• Previous experience within a global matrix organisation, ideally within technology, media, consulting or professional services.
