Job summary

Super Micro Computer Spain, S.L. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead end-to-end rack-level deployment projects in India. You will plan, coordinate, and execute data center hardware installations, ensuring safe rack movements and timely delivery across sites.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in data center operations with hands-on cabling, server hardware, and Linux/Windows diagnostics, and excellent English communication. Travel to various cities and sites is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data center operations, IT service delivery, or technical project management.
• Proven leadership of rack-level deployment projects and ability to draft SOWs.
• Experience calculating timelines and coordinating resources for large customer projects.
• Hands-on with high-speed cabling and structured cabling systems.
• Strong server hardware, GPU systems, and data center networking knowledge.
• Diagnostics proficiency in BIOS/UEFI, PXE, DOS; Linux/Windows server environments.
• Ability to relocate and manage rack movements safely in data centers.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication; professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle of rack-level deployment projects to ensure timely, successful delivery.
• Plan projects, draft SOWs, and calculate resources and timelines per customer needs.
• Serve as primary contact for customers, managing expectations and alignment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Lead and manage the full lifecycle of rack-level system deployment projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
• Project Planning & SOW: Define project scopes, draft Statements of Work (SOW), and calculate necessary resources and timelines based on specific customer requirements.
• Customer Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact, ensuring clear communication, professional expectation management, and structural alignment during the deployment process.
• Field Engineering: In the absence of active deployment projects, perform on-site hardware troubleshooting, maintenance, and service desk ticket handling to minimize downtime.
• Self-Readiness: Demonstrate proactive self-readiness by independently managing service workflows and responding to technical challenges in dynamic data center environments.

Qualifications

• Professional Experience & Project Management:
• 5+ years of experience in data center operations, IT service delivery, or technical project management.
• Proven experience leading and managing rack-level system deployment projects.
• Demonstrated success in drafting Statements of Work (SOWs), calculating project timelines, and coordinating resource requirements for complex, large-scale customer projects.
• Technical Skills & Field Operations:
• Hands-on experience with high-speed cabling and structured cabling systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of server hardware, GPU systems, and data center networking.
• Proficiency in hardware diagnostics (BIOS, UEFI Shell, PXE, DOS) and troubleshooting within Linux/Windows server environments.
• Field Site Execution: Demonstrated expert-level capability in performing comprehensive on-site deployment tasks, including:
• Rack movement observation and management: Ensuring safe and precise physical relocation of server racks within the data center floor.
• Hardware remediation support: Proactive identification and resolution of hardware-level failures during deployment.
• Unpacking systems and rack stacking: Executing physical installation, rack-mount operations, and server integration.
• Power connection and configuration validation: Managing high-density power distribution connections and performing pre-deployment configuration validation to ensure system readiness.
• Mobility:
• Ability to travel frequently to different cities within the country of residence or to international locations within a 6-hour flight radius for deployment projects.
• Communication & Professionalism:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain professional boundaries and formal expectations.
• Full professional proficiency in English.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
