Job summary

Siemens Healthineers AG is seeking an experienced R&D Project Manager to lead cross-functional projects from inception to delivery. You will ensure scope, cost, time and quality while aligning with the technology roadmap and regulatory standards.

The role requires strong collaboration with Product Managers/Owners, stakeholders, and teams across functions. Prior experience in healthcare tech and Agile methods will be advantageous, with readiness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of overall industry experience in technology/engineering (healthcare preferred).
• 3–4 years in R&D project management or similar leadership roles.
• Experience in managing R&D projects, preferably in tech/healthcare domains.
• Knowledge of Agile Principles and Methodologies.
• Experience with Agile (Scrum/SAFe) is a plus but not mandatory.
• Excellent stakeholder management, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, resources, risks, and governance.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards, product safety, and IP rights.
• Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering/Science; PMP/Agile certs a plus.

The R&D Project Manager leads projects with full accountability for outcomes, ensuring timely delivery, quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

• Manage R&D projects end-to-end, ensuring delivery within defined scope, cost, time, and quality.
• Drive alignment of project targets with R&D strategy, product portfolio, and technology roadmap.
• Steer project budgets, resources, and agreements.
• Leverage knowledge of project management best practices and, where applicable, apply Agile principles, methods, and frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, or similar) to enable adaptive planning, early value delivery, and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder & Team Collaboration

• Collaborate with Product Managers/Product Owners and other stakeholders to define and deliver project objectives.
• Foster cross-functional teamwork, transparency, and knowledge sharing.
• Incorporate customer feedback into project execution to ensure satisfaction and business success.

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure adherence to architecture, design, quality, product safety, and product security guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with standards, regulations, working laws, and intellectual property rights.
• Manage risks and opportunities proactively, escalating issues for timely decisions when necessary.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Promote reuse, cooperation, lessons learned, and best practice sharing.
• Identify opportunities for intellectual property and align with patent strategies.

Documentation & Reporting

• Ensure accurate and complete project documentation.
• Maintain transparency on progress, work items, and outcomes across teams and stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications
