Job summary

Atlas Copco Group is seeking a Projet Engineer / Senior Project Engineer to design and develop air compressors. You will lead projects, manage EBOM, and coordinate with sourcing to ensure cost, time, and quality targets are met.

The role requires experience with piston products, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD/Inventor. On-site work at Talegaon/Pune area, with export project exposure and collaboration with the AGA division.

Qualifications

• Engineering Graduate with 3–5 years in mechanical product design and development.
• Experience on piston compressor products (reciprocating systems) and related machinery.
• Familiarity with Atlas Copco piston products and NPD process.
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of manufacturing and qualification processes for compressor parts.
• Good communication in English; able to work with suppliers and CAD tools.
• Proficient with Office 365 and digitalization tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop air compressors per master specifications.
• Lead cost-reduction projects and improve product architecture.
• Expand export projects in collaboration with AGA Division in Antwerp.
• Coordinate with sourcing for designed parts and EBOM management.
• Release engineering drawings and specifications per NPD process.

Job description

As a Projet Engineer / Senior Project Engineer, - Std. Engineering You will report to Engineering Manager.

Roles And Responsibilities

Design and develop Air compressors as specified in Master Specifications.

Be part of an OHP engineering team to develop new products based on the design from the division to follow-up and further design/localize the products currently in production, against the committed time, cost and quality requirements.

Be part of Engineering Team, which has the ambition to be excellent in designing and manufacturing Atlas Copco compressors

Focus on cost reductions and lead special cost reduction projects as decided in the AGA PCM.

Make VK and PK costs transparent for all products produced in PNB Talegaon Plant.

Take the lead to expand the export business out of India and lead these export projects in close cooperation with AGA Division in Antwerp.

Work closely together with sourcing department for designed parts.

Concept creations in 3D environment and EBOM management. Defining layout, and defining product architecture on EBOM

Releasing all engineering drawings and specifications through system.

Analyze the critical components of the machine and draw the specifications in design phase.

Execute the design work in the framework of the Atlas Copco guidelines. Follow and document the design status as specified in NPD process.

Take initiatives and bring in creative ideas to control and reduce the cost of new and existing products. Active participation in PTM, TCM for NPD, production issues and field issues.

Co-ordination with Airpower teams are necessary and should able to run projects with divisional requirements.

Experience & Education Requirements

• Engineering Graduate - Mechanical Engineering with minimum 3-5 years product design and development experience in mechanical engineering.Post Graduation will be an added advantage.
• Proven experience on Piston products (Reciprocating Compressor Air and Biogas, Pistons machines)
• Should have good knowledge of Atlas Copco Piston products, NPD process.
• Should have very good analytical skills. Should possess a good knowledge of manufacturing & qualification processes for compressor parts.
• Should interact with suppliers and visit them whenever necessary. Should be conversant with Office 365.
• Knowledge Good communication skills in English language (verbal and written) Solid understanding and mature user of O365 and digitalization tools. Able to work independently with mechanical/electrical CAD drawing software (AutoCAD and Inventor)
