Job summary

Atlas Copco is seeking an Assistant Manager/Project Leader/Senior Project Leader to head AGA (GPP) NPD projects at Talegaon, Pune, India. You will localize products and manage time, cost and quality, working with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include driving cost reductions, ensuring QA, and coordinating with engineering for product design and manufacturing excellence. The role is on-site with a dynamic team at the Talegaon facility.

Qualifications

• Engineering graduate in mechanical engineering with strong design and development background.
• 10–15 years of product design and development experience, preferably in a multinational production company.
• Proven experience with CNG/Biogas/Hydrogen compressors and related systems.
• Proficient in CAD tools (AutoCAD, Inventor) and SAP knowledge.
• Strong communication skills in English and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage AGA (GPP) NPD projects from design to localization within time, cost, and quality targets.
• Be part of the AGA GPP CNG Standard Engineering Team, driving excellent design and manufacturing of Atlas Copco compressors.
• Drive cost reductions and lead special projects as decided in PCM.
• Make VK and PK costs transparent for GPP CNG products produced in Dapodi Plant.
• Lead expansion of export projects from India in collaboration with engineering managers.

As a Assistant Manager/Project Leader/Senior Project Leader, You will report to Engineering Manager -GPP

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage AGA (GPP) NPD projects based on the design from the division to follow-up and further localize the products currently in production, against the committed time, cost and quality requirements.
• Be part of an AGA GPP CNG Standard Engineering Team, which has the ambition to be excellent in designing and manufacturing Atlas Copco compressors and Chicago Pneumatic CNG Piston compressors.
• Focus on cost reductions and lead special cost reduction projects as decided in the AGA GPP CNG PCM.
• Make VK and PK costs transparent for all GPP CNG products produced in Dapodi Plant. Concentrate on consolidated cost pictures.
• Take the lead to expand the export business out of India and lead these export projects in close cooperation with manager engineering in PC Dapodi.
• Introducing New Products as per Atlas Copco CtP process with Quality & cost-effective products with rationalization & standardization, more localization of the products.
• To solve, provide solution of Product Maintenance, Field issues to bring Warranty cost down.
• Safeguard the quality of the design and make sure that all engineering employees know, master and respect the design rules and QA procedures.
• Creating Qualification plans for Functional parts of Compressor.
• Work closely with all departments of Product companies and provide Engineering solutions with the required technical information.
• Work closely with Engineering Dept. of involved product companies of the group regarding the design of the different products.

To succeed, you will need

Qualifications/Knowledge & Work Experience:

• Engineering Graduate- Mechanical Engineering.. Master’s degree is an added advantage
• Minimum 10-15 years of product design and development experience in mechanical engineering, preferably 2 years in multinational production company.
• Having proven experience on products like CNG/Biogas/Hydrogen compressors, Hydraulic boosters, Reciprocating compressors etc.
• Good communication skills in English language (verbal and written). Solid understanding and mature user of MS Office.Able to work independently with mechanical/electrical CAD drawing software (AutoCAD & Inventor). SAP Knowledge must.
• Strong technical knowledge of engineered gas compression systems and installations. Able to work within a time frame in line with management requirements.
• Able to plan and organize effectively with the right sense of urgency.
