Responsibilities

• Contribute to the effective operation of the project unit within the Chennai Engineering Team.

• Prepare one-line diagrams, layout drawings, and related documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors and suppliers on technical interfaces.
• Maintain design logs, clash checks and change records.

Job Description

Purpose of the Job:The Project Engineer will be a member Chennai Engineering Team and will contribute towardsthe effective operation of project unit.The Project Engineer will work on project/Tender specific activities assigned to the GETS-Chennai EngineeringTeam along with skilled team on a wide range of international T&D substation projects. Individualcontributors using prior theoretical learning or knowledge of methods and technologies to execute workassignments using established solutions.The position provides design for engineering discipline across multiple engineering projects within the GETS.Complete the assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects, costeffectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards. Highest quality standards areapplied, and safety requirements are taken into consideration.

• Cooperate with the engineering teamand agree on the project specific impacts, caused by the changes.

• Creates work plans and cost estimates in own area of responsibility.
• Co-ordinates clarify with engineers, sub-contractors and suppliers technical issues (withinthe assigned scope of work) and technical interfaces.

• Prepare all technical documentation for the equipment specification as input to thepurchase requisitions Contribute to the Up-to-date design issue log Safety – Understand and follow procedures and guidelinesParticipate at design reviews.

Looking for Primary engineer who hasexperience AIS/GIS projects in UK/Europe

Bachelor’s Degree / master’s degree in electrical / Power Engineering. Sound knowledge on engineering of AIS & GIS transmission and distribution substation up to400kV. Wide knowledge on ANSI / IEEE standards is preferred. Knowledge on IEC, IEEE, NFPA 70, NFPA 780, NFPA 850 standards for substation engineering isdesired. Overall engineering design experience on Primary engineering in GIS & AIS substation projectsfor Sweden utilities is required. Well-versed handling of IEC units like – Meters, Milli meters, etc is preferred. Knowledge on international standards and best practices related to HV substation &equipment. Hands on experience in HV Substation Electromechanical Design engineering preparation ofOne line diagram, three-line diagram, AIS & GIS substation layout, Sections, Cable trench /Conduit layout, Grounding layout and details, Specifications, Request For Quotation, MasterMaterial List, SAG tension calculation, Bus bar selection, Short Circuit Force calculation,Shielding study, Grounding study, Cable engineering, Auxiliary system AC / DC study etc. Indoor/ Outdoor Lighting system design etc. Understanding of CAD / CAE applications and tools. Understanding of electronic records management systems. High attention to detail and quality. Add on advantage of experience in Rail power distribution systems. (DC / AC system)
