Job summary

Staffing Services is seeking a capable Service & Application Engineer to drive presales and after-sales support for factory automation and safety solutions. The role requires coordinating with safety consultants, system integrators, and sales to define scope, prepare offers, and ensure project execution on site in Pune.

Responsibilities include presales design input, vendor coordination, and post-sales service and reporting.

2. Purpose of the Job: Below mentioned responsibility is require handling for Pre & after sales support

• 1) Extend the support for presales activity.
• a. Understand the customer requirements in terms of mechanical and safety. Ask for the suggestions from various department like production,maintenance,project Eng.,EHS.
• b. Design the concept based on consolidated requirement and assist sales team to get it approved from customer.
• c. Discuss the project scope with Safety consultant for verification as per safety standards.
• d. Identify & involve the system integrator.
• e. Define scope of work to integrator and get their offer.
• f. Send the offer along with necessary mechanical concept, drawings,documents to Sales Team.
• 2) For all other orders like Turnkey project execution
• a. Discuss the project scope with Safety consultant for verification as per safety standards & adopt necessary changes during execution.
• b. Ensure compliance of all EHS norms for vendor as well as SIPL team member who are going to work on the project.
• d. Define list of activity & time required for the same in hours as per prescribed format.
• e. Separate out activity list as offline work (machine shutdown not required) & online work (Machine shutdown required) & share to sales and project team for further process.
• f. Involve the vendor and system integrator for mechanical and electrical scope of work.
• g. Send final offer of vendor to Sales Co-ordinator with technical confirmation & for further negotiation / to release PO.
• h. Identify and manage vendors during fabrication and build process and execution at Site.
• i. Inform sales team about readiness of vendor material and ask to dispatch Schmersal as well as vendor material.
• j. Get the invoice from vendor and send to sales co-ordinator for further processing. Confirm about necessary required information e.g., packing details of the same.
• k. Onsite visit during beginning & end of project.
• l. Update project status on each Monday with respect to Gantt chart.
• m. Prepare and maintain the daily activity sheet and share it on each Monday.
• n. Maintain the Project management document of each project.
• o. Attend GAMBA Meeting everyday morning to share the information to Pre-Sales & Project Manager.
• P. Get the daily MOM from vendor and update the project status to related SIPL team as well as customer.
• q. Sign off the project and handover the same to customer.
• r. Perform validation along with safety consultant and submit report to customer.
• s. Inform sales team about completion of project with completion certificate signed by customer.

3. Major Activities / Principal Accountabilities:

• a. To Support sales to identify customer needs and propose suitable solution.
• b. To manage installation, Assistance & Education to internal & external customers.
• c. To Generate revenue from Service.
• d. To suggest proper BOM of safety PLC & advance safety solution to upgrade machine safety.
• e. To establish effective process for customer, complain handling for on time response to sales & customers.
• f. To prepare proper warranty policy, streamline the warranty replacement process & reports.
• g. To Establish effective infrastructure for product testing facility to generate Root Cause analysis report to submit to customers on time also to find cause of failure. Onetime response to customer against all complains & on time closing of complain by coordinating with internal & external customers.
• h. To prepare effective service agreement & implementation.
• i. To generate failure analysis, warranty replacement reports and other required reports applicable for service.
• j. Establish good repo with Germany concern team for continuous update to get on time support to provide on time support to all Internal & external customers also to get warranty replacement from Germany on FOC.
• k. Ability to work independently to manage entire assigned responsibility.
• l. Verify safety solutions within projects & where necessary discuss these with stakeholders (e.g., PLE/PM/Supervisors)
• m. Execute site inspection on Design Safety (Mechanical/Electrical/Controls)
• n. Contribute to continuous Improvement of design safety.

8. Knowledge

• a. Technical knowledge for Mechanical design and installation.
• b. Knowledge of electrical standard, Product and their installation will be added advantage.
• c. Knowledge of Factory Automation, Mechanical Standards and installation, Industrial Machinery safety product & solution, E-CAD, Solid works.(Any of these)
• d. Design knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
• e. Proven experience managing risk during the design process consistent with technical and commercial requirements.
• f. Knowledge of safety regulations and applicable industry codes / standards
• g. Knowledge for troubleshooting /after sales technical support, testing, installation & commissioning of product related to Factory Automation, Control & Automation, Electrical automation, Industrial Machinery safety product & solution.
• h. Working experience as a Service & Application Engineer to know about all related department process.
• i. Technically sound with good level of understanding for faster improvement
• j. To know process & policy related to service agreement for service contract, generate service review, warranty polity, setting up Test Lab with testing facility.
