Lam Research in Bangalore seeks a Lead Project Engineer to manage non-standard requests (NSRs) from initial review to final release. You will coordinate with Engineering, Product Management, Account Teams and Sales Operations to ensure timely, cost-aware NSR solutions for global customers.
You’ll lead design scope, work with cross-functional teams across India and the US, and drive engineering change processes while maintaining strong stakeholder communication and project visibility.
Lam Research established its global center in Bangalore to expand access to India’s engineering talent. Over the past decade, the center has broadened its scope beyond engineering to include global manufacturing, supply chain operations, and shared services. One of its major functional groups is LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Technology), where mechanical engineers, simulation analysts, electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and engineering support teams collaborate to design and develop subassemblies and subsystems for Lam’s next‑generation products. LIGHT has grown into a key new product development and sustaining engineering organization within Lam’s global engineering footprint.
There is an opening for a Lead Project Engineer based in Bangalore, reporting directly to the leader of WETS (Wet Equipment Technology Solutions) Engineering Operations within LIGHT. This individual will collaborate with engineers in India and the United States on product sustaining activities for WETS product lines.
At Lam, the Lead Project Engineer for Non‑Standard Requests (NSRs) will work closely with Engineering, Product Management, Account Teams, Sales Operations and cross‑functional teams across global regions to manage productivity and technology upgrade requests for global customers.
This role will own the NSR workflow from initial review through execution, design approval, and final release, while serving as the primary link between external stakeholders and internal engineering and operations teams.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on‑site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On‑site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On‑site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on‑site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1‑2 days per week on‑site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
