Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Project Engineer – HVDC to support C&P activities from engineering through commissioning. You will coordinate design documents, interface details and protection philosophies while working with system, hardware and software teams, customers, and subcontractors.

You will participate in design reviews, track progress, and help prepare FAT, SAT and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements and EH&S guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience in HVDC, FACTS, substation automation or protection & control preferred.
• Understanding of power system protection, control systems and SCADA.
• Familiarity with engineering documentation and project execution processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate HVDC Control & Protection systems across projects.
• Review design documents, interface documents and protection philosophies.
• Engage with system/hardware/software teams, customers and subcontractors.
• Participate in design reviews, meetings and technical discussions.

The Project Engineer – HVDC will support the execution of Control & Protection (C&P) activities for HVDC projects from engineering through commissioning. The role involves coordination of design, technical documentation, system integration, testing, and site support to ensure project delivery meets quality, schedule, cost, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the coordination and execution ofHVDC Control & Protection systemsfor ongoing projects.
• Assist in coordination, review, and management of:
  • C&P design documents
  • Functional design specifications
  • Interface documents
  • Protection philosophies
  • Technical reports and engineering deliverables
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including:
  • System engineering
  • Hardware engineering
  • Software/automation engineering
  • Commissioning teams
  • Site teams
  • Customers and subcontractors
• Participate in design reviews, customer meetings, and technical discussions.
• Track engineering progress and support timely closure of technical issues.
• Contribute to FAT, SAT, and commissioning preparation activities.
• Ensure compliance with project requirements, technical standards, quality procedures, and EHS guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree inElectrical Engineering, Power Systems, Control Engineering, or related discipline from tier one college with 3+ years of experience
• Preferred experience inHVDC, FACTS, substation automation, protection & control, or power systems engineering.
• Understanding of:
  • Power system protection principles
