Job summary

Trelleborg Group in Ahmedabad, India is seeking a Project Engineer – Electrical & Instrumentation to join our engineering team and support the successful execution of complex projects. You will review electrical design packages, prepare technical specifications and BoMs, and coordinate with production and supply chain to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with ISO9001 and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation / Electrical / Electronics & Communication Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in electrical engineering, instrumentation, or control systems.
• Knowledge of electrical design principles, load calculations, and component specification.
• Experience with PLC-based control systems and industrial communication networks.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Review electrical design packages and ensure compliance with specs.
• Prepare technical documentation, interconnection diagrams, BoMs, manufacturing documentation, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate with production and supply chain during manufacturing and integration.
• Configure field instrumentation and networks such as Modbus, EtherCAT, and Profibus.
• Support PLC and SCADA development, testing, and commissioning.
• Assist with system integration, FAT testing, and product validation.
• Ensure designs comply with ISO9001 standards and industry regulations.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, production, and service teams.

About the Role: Electrical & Instrumentation Project Engineer

We are looking for a Project Engineer – Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) to join our engineering team and support the successful execution of engineering projects. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing electrical design packages, preparing technical documentation, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure project deliverables are completed in line with technical specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop electrical designs including system architecture, electrical schematics, terminal plans, and system block diagrams
• Convert project scope into feasible technical solutions through calculations, system design, and component selection
• Prepare project documentation including technical specifications, interconnection diagrams, BoMs, manufacturing documentation, and as-built documentation
• Coordinate withproduction and supply chain teams to ensure design requirements are met during manufacturing and integration
• Configurefield instrumentation and communication networks such as Modbus, EtherCAT, and Profibus
• SupportPLC and SCADA system development, including functional descriptions, testing, and commissioning
• Assist with system integration, FAT testing, and product validation
• Ensure all engineering designs comply with ISO9001 standards, relevant industry regulations, and internal engineering procedures
• Contribute tocontinuous improvement initiatives within the engineering and project teams
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including engineering, project management, production, and service teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation / Electrical/ Electronics & Communication Engineering
• 5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, instrumentation, or control systems
• Knowledge of electrical design principles, load calculations, and component specification
• Experience with PLC-based control systems and industrial communication networks
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office tools
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
