Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in India seeks a Project Engineer to manage procurement for construction and fit-out projects. You will develop procurement plans, align material schedules with the programme, float enquiries, evaluate bids, and support award of purchase orders and work orders.

Key strengths include strong negotiation and vendor management, cost control, and working knowledge of MS Excel and ERP tools to drive cost efficiency and timely deliveries across projects in Gujarat and beyond.

Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with about 5 years of procurement or contracts on construction, interior fit-out or MEP projects.
• Sound knowledge of building materials, MEP items, BOQs, specifications and rate analysis.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management and commercial evaluation skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel and procurement or ERP tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare procurement plans aligned with the project programme and site requirements.
• Float enquiries, collect and evaluate technical and commercial bids, and prepare comparative statements with recommendations.
• Negotiate with vendors and contractors, and support award of purchase orders and work orders.
• Track material deliveries, follow up with vendors, and ensure items meet specifications and quality standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, architects, MEP consultants and the finance team on submittals, approvals, billing and cost control.
• Maintain the vendor database, procurement trackers, MIS and project documentation.
• Identify procurement risks, delays and cost variances, and escalate them with solutions.
