Job description

SELCO Foundation

SELCO Foundation works to make clean, reliable energy reach people who need it most. It brings together solar power, local businesses, and community groups to improve how people earn a living, stay healthy, and learn. Its teams work closely with farmers, health workers, and local institutions so that solutions fit real needs on the ground. In North East India, the Foundation supports farming and allied livelihoods that can stand up to a changing climate. This role sits within SELCO Foundation's Livelihood Innovations team, which builds and tests new ways for farmers and rural families to earn a better and more secure income.

Role

As Knowledge Orchestrator, you will bring people together to share what works in climate-resilient farming and allied livelihoods across North East India. Based in Guwahati, you will work with field teams and partners to capture new ideas from the ground, turn them into clear stories and reports, and share them widely through events, webinars, podcasts, and print and digital content.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, host, and facilitate regional/national workshops, roundtables, webinars, podcasts, and learning exchanges focused on agriculture and allied livelihoods.
  • Build partnerships with knowledge institutions, research groups, government agencies, NGOs, and community groups across North East India.
  • Author diverse communications content—including articles, case studies, blogs, reports, newsletters, factsheets, and knowledge briefs—translating technical concepts into accessible messaging.
  • Produce visual materials (pitch decks, infographics, presentations) and oversee multimedia content creation (videos, social media) while managing digital resource libraries and brand consistency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Development Studies, Agriculture, Rural Management, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in development communication, knowledge management, event hosting, or media engagement.
  • Strong writing, editing, storytelling, public speaking, and event/webinar moderation skills.
  • Proficiency in presentation and visual design tools (PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong networking abilities, passion for climate-resilient agriculture, and willingness to travel frequently across North East India.
  • Work directly with farmers, community leaders, and field teams across North East India.
  • Build skills in facilitation, content creation, multimedia, and partnerships.
  • Help shape how good ideas in climate-resilient farming spread across the region.
  • Be part of a mission-driven organisation working on energy and livelihoods for underserved communities.
