Job summary

Peepul, an education-focused non-profit, is seeking a Project Associate - Computer Science Education in Madhya Pradesh to strengthen CS teaching in government schools under the Sandipani Vidyalaya Programme.

You will collaborate with state education officials, teachers, and partners to design CS curriculum, deliver teacher training, and create engaging learning modules and short courses, with on-ground implementation and remote guidance as needed.

Qualifications

• Background in Education, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
• 1-4 years of experience in teacher training, curriculum delivery, or education programmes, preferably in CS or digital learning.
• Strong understanding of CS concepts for school-level learners; ability to design engaging learning experiences for teachers and students.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with state-level subject matter experts and partner organisations.
• Support Sandipani Vidyalaya Programme schools in implementing the CS curriculum with on-ground and remote guidance.
• Collaborate to design and deliver teacher training programmes aligned to the CS curriculum.
• Create engaging CS learning modules and short courses for students and teachers.
• Conduct training sessions on topics like MS Office, Scratch Jr, Scratch and other CS concepts.
• Support monitoring and evaluation to assess training effectiveness.

Programme Overview - Madhya Pradesh

Peepul has been a long-term partner of the School Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, working closely with senior bureaucratic leadership to strengthen the state’s public education system.

Key programmes include:

• Sandipani Vidyalaya Programme – a flagship initiative to build ~10,000 world-class public schools. In the first phase, 300 K-12 schools have been selected, with Peepul co-leading the Academic Support and Monitoring Unit.
• CM RISE Teacher Professional Development Programme (TPD): An international award-winning initiative supporting training, coaching, and performance management of ~300,000 teachers statewide.
• PM SHRI Schools Programme: Supporting implementation of the national flagship programme aligned with NEP 2020, aimed at developing 14,500 exemplar schools across India.
• Digial Literacy Programme (Amazon Future Engineers) - a growing partnership focused on strengthening Computer Science education in Sandipani Vidyalaya Programme schools.

About the Role

The Project Associate - Computer Science Education will play a critical role in strengthening Computer Science teaching and learning within government schools in Madhya Pradesh, particularly under the Sandipani Vidyalaya Programme.

This role sits at the intersection of curriculum design, teacher capacity building, and on-ground implementation. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mission-driven, and comfortable working with government systems, school leaders, and teachers to translate curriculum intent into classroom practice.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to build deep expertise in education system reform while contributing to programmes at meaningful scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Build strong working relationships with state-level subject matter experts, education officials, and partner organisations.
• Support Sandipani Vidyalaya Programme schools in implementing the Computer Science curriculum, providing on-ground and remote guidance to teachers and school leaders.
• Collaborate with the School Education Department and partners to design and deliver teacher training programmes aligned to the Computer Science curriculum.
• Design or support the creation of engaging, age-appropriate Computer Science learning modules and short courses.
• Conduct training sessions for teachers and students on topics such as MS Office, Scratch Jr, Scratch, and other relevant Computer Science concepts.
• Support monitoring and evaluation efforts to assess training effectiveness and learning outcomes.
• Contribute to documentation, reporting, and other programme requirements as needed.
