Job summary

Peepul is seeking a Senior Project Associate – Content (English) to support the PM SHRI Programme in Madhya Pradesh. The role focuses on instructional design, teacher support, and field-based learning with a strong emphasis on English pedagogy for middle grades.

The SPA will co-create academic resources, test materials in classrooms, and mentor five PM SHRI schools to ensure strong implementation of academic processes and student engagement routines.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in English, Education or related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in educational content development, teacher training, academic design, or capacity building.
• Experience working with government school systems or large-scale education reforms preferred.
• Classroom teaching or school leadership experience will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Content Design and Resource Development: design strand-specific English resources and materials; develop content including handouts, toolkits, training decks, and guides; ensure alignment with NEP 2020 and PM SHRI principles.
• Prototype content through iterative design cycles, classroom testing, and feedback from teachers and district teams.
• Co-facilitate teacher trainings, workshops, and PLC sessions at state, division, and district levels.
• Provide ongoing academic mentoring to PM SHRI schools and track progress in English pedagogy.
• Collaborate with PMU, MEL, Content, and Field teams to ensure alignment between design and delivery.
• Maintain documentation of content versions and field insights.

Programme Overview

Peepul has been partnering with the School Education Department, Govt of Madhya Pradesh, for multiple years now. Working closely with the state bureaucratic leadership, Peepul has played a meaningful role in strengthening the education system of the state. The partnership has been a successful one – with national and international recognition of the work.

The PM SHRI (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) programme is a flagship initiative of the Government of India to create model government schools that embody the spirit of the National Education Policy 2020—focusing on joyful learning, holistic development, and excellence in teaching and leadership.

In Madhya Pradesh, Peepul partners with the Department of School Education (DPI) to strengthen the implementation of the PM SHRI programme across 799 schools, building capacities of school leaders and teachers, improving school processes, and enabling data‑driven decision‑making at every level.

About the role

Senior Project Associate – Content (English)

will support Peepul’s academic design and delivery efforts under the PM SHRI Programme in Madhya Pradesh. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about instructional design, teacher support, and field‑based learning, with a strong foundation in English pedagogy for middle grades.

The SPA will work closely with the Project Manager – Content & Delivery to co‑create academic resources, test and refine materials through classroom validation, and facilitate capacity‑building processes. They will also provide continuous mentoring support to five PM SHRI schools, ensuring strong implementation of academic processes and student engagement routines.

This is a hands‑on, field‑connected role designed for individuals who combine strong subject knowledge with creativity, rigour, and a commitment to strengthening government school ecosystems.

Responsibilities would include (including but not limited to):

Content Design and Resource Development

• Support the Project Manager in designing strand‑specific academic resources for English.
• Develop high‑quality subject‑specific content, including lesson support materials, toolkits, teacher handouts, training decks, and classroom practice guides.
• Design contextualised resources aligned with NEP 2020, NCF 2023, and Peepul programme principles.
• Contribute to the creation of structured learning journeys for teachers and school leaders.
• Ensure clarity, accuracy, and usability of all academic materials.

Prototyping, Testing, and Refinement

• Prototype content through iterative design cycles, classroom testing, and feedback from teachers and district teams.
• Conduct school visits to validate content usability, student engagement, and alignment with actual classroom needs.
• Analyse field data, user feedback, and observations to refine materials for scale.
• Document learnings, teacher feedback, and insights for continuous improvement.

Capacity Building and Delivery Support

• Co‑facilitate teacher trainings, workshops, and PLC sessions at state, division, and district levels.
• Provide academic support during school visits, modelling classroom practices and supporting teachers as needed.
• Collaborate with the implementation team to ensure consistent and accurate usage of content across districts.
• Help district teams understand and deliver academic processes effectively.

High‑Touch School Support

• Provide ongoing academic mentoring to five identified PM SHRI schools, working directly with teachers and school leaders.
• Support these schools in implementing English pedagogy aligned to PM SHRI goals.
• Help track progress, identify needs, and offer targeted academic support.

Collaboration, Documentation, and Data‑Driven Design

• Work closely with the PMU, MEL, Content, and Field teams to ensure alignment between design and delivery.
• Maintain structured documentation of content versions, field insights, and refinement cycles.
• Use visit data, teacher feedback, and CRO journals to inform improvements.
• Contribute to reports, case studies, and creation of exemplar practices.

Educational Background
