Job summary

Valorega Talentedge is seeking a Project Accountant with hands-on US accounting and project accounting operations experience. The role involves project setup, budgeting, revenue and cost tracking, invoicing, WIP management, reconciliations, profitability analysis, and US GAAP compliance.

The candidate will work across project teams, coordinate with managers, and support month-end and year-end closes while ensuring internal controls.

Qualifications

• CA qualification or active pursuit is preferred.
• 38 years of experience in project/accounting/finance operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end Project Accounting for US-based clients/entities.
• Set up new projects in ERP with proper financial structures.
• Monitor budgets, costs, revenue, and profitability throughout the lifecycle.
• Track expenditures and ensure accurate cost allocations.
• Prepare and process invoices (milestones, time & material, fixed-fee).
• Monitor WIP and perform reconciliations; support month/year-end close.
• Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and management reports.
• Coordinate with project managers and finance teams on financial performance.

About the Role

We are looking for a Project Accountant with hands‑on experience in US Accounting and project accounting operations. The ideal candidate should have experience in project setup, budgeting, revenue and cost tracking, project invoicing, WIP management, reconciliations, project profitability analysis, and month‑end financial reporting while ensuring compliance with US GAAP and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end Project Accounting activities for US-based clients/entities.
• Set up new projects in ERP/accounting systems with appropriate financial structures.
• Monitor project budgets, costs, revenue, and profitability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Track project expenditures and ensure accurate cost allocation.
• Prepare and process project invoices, milestone billing, time & material billing, and fixed‑fee billing.
• Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) and perform WIP reconciliations.
• Perform project cost analysis, variance analysis, and profitability reporting.
• Record project-related journal entries, accruals, revenue recognition adjustments, and reallocations.
• Reconcile project accounts with the General Ledger.
• Support month‑end and year‑end financial close activities.
• Prepare project financial reports, forecasts, and management reports.
• Coordinate with project managers, finance teams, and stakeholders regarding project financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, contract terms, and company policies.
• Support internal and external audit requirements by maintaining complete documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve project accounting processes and reporting efficiency.

• Experience supporting US-based clients or multinational organizations preferred.
• Strong understanding of project accounting principles, revenue recognition, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
• Ability to work closely with project managers and cross‑functional teams.
