Job summary

Ground Zero is seeking a Program Design Lead (Education) to guide the end-to-end design monitoring of the Peer-Teaching Program for Student Agency, primarily in Varanasi and surrounding districts.

You will work with education department actors, ME teams, and program managers to shape design and ensure successful outcomes for students. Strong English/Hindi communication and research skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher; masters preferred.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage education design projects.
  • Strong written and spoken English and Hindi communication.
  • Experience with ME and data analysis for program monitoring.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end design monitoring of the Peer-Teaching Program toward student agency.
  • Coordinate with government education actors to ensure program design aligns with implementation.
  • Develop strategic plans to support field teams and scaling efforts.
  • Create assets (courses, case studies, tools, session plans, handbooks) for program design.
  • Visit schools and participate in district reviews to assess quality and impact.

Job Summary

Role: Program Design Lead [Education], Varanasi

Experience: 2-5 Years

You will manage the end-to-end design monitoring of our Peer-Teaching Program towards Student Agency in the Varanasi and Sambhal districts working with SCERT, DIET, Block and Cluster level Education department actors teachers to ensure successful program outcomes for all the students. You will be a part of the team which lays the foundation for the scale of Involve. This will include the following:

Roles and Responsibilities
Design
  • Use primary and secondary research to identify the needs of the stakeholders
  • Partner with Program Managers, government liaison teams, and monitoring evaluation teams to ensure strong design-implementation alignment.
  • Develop a strategic plan for supporting the field team, aligned to the scope of the project towards achieving student outcomes
  • Ensure program designs are feasible for adoption by government machinery at district and state levels.
  • Designing and Identification of different assets (Courses, Case studies, Tools, Projects, Session plans, Handbooks etc.) through various sources
  • Visiting schools being part of block review meetings to understand the quality of the program and implementation
Monitoring Evaluation
  • Work with ME team to customize existing tech/systems to analyse the progress of the program (tools to monitor outcomes of various stakeholders) aligned to the program needs
  • Frequent discussions with the team on the importance and quality of data collection
  • Build feedback loops from district and school-level implementation into ongoing program refinement
  • Managing data from the program and discussing with the team to make decisions
Requirements
  • Education: An undergraduate degree in any stream is a must; a masters degree is a plus
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in designing education programs. Experience with leading projects independently would be preferred
  • Skills: Should be a good planner and a go-getter; able to work collaboratively in teams; strong communication (oral and written) skills in English and Hindi; Research skills; ME and data analysis; session design (for student and adult learning)
  • Strong work Ethics: Punctuality, Sense of environment, self-driven;
  • Interests: Passionate about education
  • Language : Written and verbal Fluency in Hindi and English is a must
