Job summary

Growth For Impact in Mumbai is seeking a Public Health Specialist to guide heat-health protocol development and field activities. You will liaise with health officials, collect data on climate stressors, and analyse health outcomes to inform program decisions.

The role requires coordinating with multiple partners across sites, presenting findings, and supporting workshop organization to meet project milestones and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in the public health sector focusing on planning and implementation.
• Experience in field data collection and engagement with stakeholders in public health.
• Self-starter with high autonomy and ability to work independently.
• Strong written and spoken English and Hindi communication skills.

ROLE

• Liaise with health and other relevant department officials to facilitate and guide the development of Heat-Health protocols for Mumbai.
• Assist in conducting field visits and engaging with key stakeholders to gather insights and inform project activities.
• Support the identification and acquisition of data related to climate stressors and public health outcomes in Mumbai.
• Contribute to the identification of climate stressors and the definition of climate-health hazards in Mumbai.
• Provide technical expertise and field-level insights into the impacts of climate change on health outcomes in Mumbai.
• Assist in organising meetings and workshops, offering both technical and administrative support to ensure project milestones are met and project documentation is effectively maintained.

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 2 years of experience in the public health sector focusing on planning and implementation of public health programs and research.
• Technical knowledge and field experience in planning and implementation of public health programs.
• Self-starter committed to performing duties with a high degree of autonomy and independence.
• Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills in English and Hindi.
• Direct experience independently liaising with government health functionaries, district-level administrators, and other development partners.
• Data analysis, data visualisation, and analytical thinking skills.
• Strong coordination skills.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a matrix organisational structure.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multi‑site team‑based organisational structure, including partners and collaborators.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web research.
• Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines.
