Job summary

Vitality Healthcare invites a senior academic leader to head the Forensic Medicine department in its premier institute. You will guide budgeting, staffing, and infrastructure while shaping the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum to include recent legal amendments and forensic technologies.

You will mentor faculty, supervise major research projects, and act as a principal investigator for institutional studies.

Qualifications

• MD in Forensic Medicine or DNB from an NMC-recognized institution.
• 8–10 years of teaching experience, including at least 3 years as Associate Professor.
• 10+ publications in high-impact indexed journals; NMC-approved Inspector experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Forensic Medicine department, including budget, personnel, and infrastructure.
• Lead curriculum design for undergraduate and postgraduate programs with recent legal amendments and forensic technologies.
• Mentor Assistant and Associate Professors, guiding teaching methods and research initiatives.
• Provide expert medico-legal consultancy and handle advanced autopsy opinions as needed.
• Represent the institution in High Courts or the Supreme Court as a senior expert witness.
• Advise law enforcement and government bodies on forensic protocols and death investigation systems.
• Supervise major institutional research projects as Principal Investigator.
• Act as a primary thesis advisor for MD and PhD candidates; ensure scholarly standards.
• Participate in editorial boards or serve as peer reviewer for international publications.
