Job summary

IQ City Foundation seeks a qualified academic in Forensic Medicine to lecture and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students. The incumbent will coordinate practical classes, research projects, and departmental activities, ensuring compliance with NMC norms and institutional policies. Reporting to the HOD/Dean as required.

Qualifications

• MD in Forensic Medicine or Forensic Medicine & Toxicology as per NMC norms.
• Relevant teaching experience in a recognized medical college/institution per NMC requirements.
• Strong knowledge of medico-legal procedures and forensic documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct lectures, tutorials, practical classes, seminars, and case-based teaching.
• Teach Forensic Medicine, Medical Jurisprudence, Forensic Pathology, Forensic Toxicology, and Clinical Forensic Medicine.
• Provide practical training in injury identification, medico-legal examination, documentation, and procedures.

Job description

1. Conduct lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, seminars, and case-based teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
2. Teach Forensic Medicine, Medical Jurisprudence, Forensic Pathology, Forensic Toxicology, and Clinical Forensic Medicine.
3. Provide practical training in identification of injuries, medico-legal examination, documentation, and relevant forensic procedures.
4. Participate in post-mortem/autopsy-related academic activities as per institutional protocols and applicable regulations.
5. Guide students in medico-legal case studies, forensic investigations, seminars, and academic projects.
6. Prepare lesson plans, teaching schedules, practical programs, and academic materials.
7. Conduct internal assessments, examinations, viva-voce, and other academic evaluations.
8. Mentor students and provide academic guidance and support.
9. Undertake research activities and guide students/faculty in research projects and publications.
10. Participate in seminars, CME programs, workshops, conferences, and other academic activities.
11. Maintain departmental academic records, student attendance, examination records, and required documentation.
12. Assist the Professor/HOD in departmental planning, academic coordination, and faculty activities.
13. Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of the forensic medicine laboratory, museum, equipment, and teaching resources.
14. Ensure appropriate documentation and handling of medico-legal academic records in accordance with institutional procedures.
15. Ensure compliance with NMC regulations, medical education standards, and institutional policies.
16. Participate in medical college inspections, accreditation activities, and regulatory assessments.
17. Coordinate with clinical departments and external medico-legal authorities when required for academic and institutional purposes.
18. Perform any other academic or departmental responsibilities assigned by the HOD/Principal/Dean.

Educational Qualification

• MD in Forensic Medicine / Forensic Medicine & Toxicology or equivalent qualification as per applicable NMC norms.
