Job summary

VetterTec, headquartered in Kassel, Germany, is seeking a Production Supervisor to strengthen the Pune, India team. You will plan daily production, supervise welders and fitters, ensure material and machinery utilization, and coordinate with QC and other departments to meet targets while upholding safety and quality standards.

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8–10 years in heavy fabrication (heat exchangers, dryers, boilers).
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and codes (ASME, IBR).
• Hands-on supervision of welding, fitting, machining, and assembly.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily production schedules based on project timelines and priorities.
• Supervise fitters, welders, machinists and helpers during fabrication and assembly.
• Ensure proper utilization of manpower, machines and material to achieve targets.
• Review and interpret fabrication drawings, WPS and work instructions.
• Monitor quality and coordinate with QC for inspections (fit-up, welding, hydrotest, final inspection).
• Maintain production records, work progress and downtime logs.
• Train and develop the team for productivity and skill improvement.
• Ensure safety, health and environmental guidelines on shop floor.
• Coordinate with Project, Quality, Purchase and Stores for material availability.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and escalate to management when required.
• Maintain discipline, minimize rework and improve process efficiency.

To strengthen our team in Pune, India, we are looking for aProduction Supervisor.

• Plan and execute daily production schedules based on project timelines and priorities.
• Supervise and guide fitters, welders, machinists, and helpers during fabrication and assembly.
• Ensure proper utilization of manpower, machines, and material to achieve production targets.
• Review and interpret fabrication drawings, WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications), and work instructions.
• Monitor quality standards and coordinate with the QC department for inspections (fit-up, welding, hydrotest, final inspection).
• Maintain production records, work progress reports, and downtime logs.
• Train and develop the team for better productivity and skill improvement.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety, health, and environmental guidelines on the shop floor.
• Coordinate with Project, Quality, purchase, and stores for material availability.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and elevate problems to management when required.
• Maintain discipline, minimize rework, and improve process efficiency.
• You have a Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• You have 8-10 years of experience in the heavy fabrication industry (heat exchangers, dryers, boilers) will also be considered.
• You have Strong knowledge of tube bundle, heat exchanger, or pressure vessel manufacturing processes.
• You can read and interpret technical drawings, welding standards, and ASME, IBR fabrication codes.
• You have a Hands-on experience in supervising welding, fitting, machining, and assembly operations.
• You have Leadership and team management skills to handle a diverse workforce.
• You have expertise in production planning and resource allocation.
• You understand QA/QC, NDT processes, and documentation.
• You have Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Your confident manners, leadership experience, good organization and quality awareness, as well as the ability to work very well with and in a team, will also convince us!
