Job summary

Siemens Energy India Limited (SEIL) is hiring a Production Manager to lead shop-floor teams and drive Lean initiatives. You will plan production to meet customer needs, deploy resources efficiently, and ensure compliance with SOPs, safety, and ISO standards.

The role emphasizes problem solving, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration across Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Typically 3–7 years of relevant experience in manufacturing/production operations.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and process optimization.
  • Working knowledge of EHS requirements and shop-floor compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead and engage teams in improvement projects.
  • Experience in improvement, automation, digitalization, and productivity projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise Jr. Executives and shop-floor staff to hit production, quality, delivery, and safety targets.
  • Prepare and execute production plans aligned with customer requirements and priorities.
  • Ensure optimal deployment of resources for smooth operations.
  • Monitor SOPs, quality, and safety adherence on the shop floor.
  • Foster quality and safety culture and address safety and quality concerns.
  • Track KPIs: productivity, FPY, rejection, OEE, downtime, quality observations.
  • Provide technical support and resolve day-to-day production issues.
  • Drive Lean, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, automation and digitalization initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.
  • Monitor performance, conduct reviews, identify skill gaps, and support training.
  • Conduct 5S audits and maintain workplace organization and discipline.
  • Maintain production and quality documents per ISO requirements.
  • Identify recurring issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Stay updated on manufacturing tech and their implementation.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise Jr. Executives, Executives, and shop-floor operators to achieve production, quality, delivery, productivity, and EHS targets.
  • Prepare and execute quarterly, monthly, and daily production plans in line with customer requirements and business priorities.
  • Ensure effective deployment of manpower, machines, materials, tools, and other resources for smooth production operations.
  • Monitor shop-floor activities and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Foster a strong quality and safety culture by ensuring compliance with EHS standards and proactively addressing unsafe conditions and quality concerns.
  • Monitor and improve key manufacturing KPIs including productivity, FPY, rejection/rework, OEE, downtime, and quality observations.
  • Provide technical and operational support to the shop-floor team, resolve day-to-day production issues, and ensure timely availability of required resources.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, automation, and digitalization initiatives to improve productivity, quality, safety, and process efficiency.
  • Lead or actively participate in cross-functional improvement projects with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other functions.
  • Monitor employee performance, conduct periodic performance discussions, identify skill gaps, and support training and skill development of team members.
  • Conduct regular 5S audits, identify improvement opportunities, and motivate team members to sustain workplace organization and discipline.
  • Ensure proper preparation, control, and maintenance of production and quality-related documents and records in accordance with ISO requirements.
  • Identify recurring production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Stay updated on emerging manufacturing technologies, Lean practices, automation, and digital solutions, and support their implementation where applicable.
  • Ensure effective communication of daily production priorities, issues, and performance to the concerned stakeholders.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Typically 3–7 years of relevant experience in manufacturing/production operations, preferably in a structured industrial environment.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and process optimization techniques, including waste elimination and continuous improvement.
  • Working knowledge of EHS requirements, safety procedures, and shop-floor compliance practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and engage teams to achieve common production and business objectives.
  • Experience in handling improvement, automation, digitalization, and productivity enhancement projects.
  • Ability to analyze production data, identify performance gaps, and drive corrective actions.
