Job summary

Siemens Energy India Limited is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the shop floor team at Aurangabad. You will oversee Jr. Executives and operators, drive production plans, and ensure resources, quality, and safety targets are met.

The role requires strong Lean, EHS, and line-management skills, with experience in automation and digitalization initiatives to enhance productivity and process efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing/production operations.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and process optimization techniques.
  • Working knowledge of EHS requirements, safety procedures, and shop-floor compliance practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and engage teams to achieve production and business objectives.
  • Experience in handling improvement, automation, digitalization, and productivity enhancement projects.
  • Ability to analyze production data, identify performance gaps, and drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise Jr. Executives, Executives, and shop-floor operators to achieve production, quality, delivery, productivity, and EHS targets.
  • Prepare and execute quarterly, monthly, and daily production plans in line with customer requirements and business priorities.
  • Ensure effective deployment of manpower, machines, materials, tools, and other resources for smooth production operations.
  • Monitor shop-floor activities and ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Foster a strong quality and safety culture by ensuring compliance with EHS standards and proactively addressing unsafe conditions and quality concerns.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs including productivity, FPY, rejection/rework, OEE, downtime, and quality observations.
  • Provide technical and operational support to the shop-floor team, resolve day-to-day production issues, and ensure timely availability of required resources.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, automation, and digitalization initiatives to improve productivity, quality, safety, and process efficiency.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional improvement projects with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other functions.
  • Monitor employee performance, conduct performance discussions, identify skill gaps, and support training and skill development.
  • Conduct regular 5S audits, identify improvement opportunities, and motivate team members to sustain workplace organization and discipline.
  • Ensure proper preparation, control, and maintenance of production and quality-related documents and records in accordance with ISO requirements.
  • Identify recurring production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Stay updated on emerging manufacturing technologies, Lean practices, automation, and digital solutions, and support their implementation.
  • Ensure effective communication of daily production priorities, issues, and performance to stakeholders.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Typically 47 years of relevant experience in manufacturing/production operations, preferably in a structured industrial environment.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and process optimization techniques, including waste elimination and continuous improvement.
  • Working knowledge of EHS requirements, safety procedures, and shop-floor compliance practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and engage teams to achieve common production and business objectives.
  • Experience in handling improvement, automation, digitalization, and productivity enhancement projects.
  • Ability to analyze production data, identify performance gaps, and drive corrective actions.
