Job summary

ABB India, Smart Buildings division in Nelamangala, Bangalore Region invites applications for Production Supervisor. You will oversee shift operations, ensure production plans are met, and uphold safety and quality standards on the shop floor.

You will lead a team, coordinate with maintenance and production management, and drive continuous improvement using Kaizen, 5S and lean methods to improve efficiency and on-time delivery. Prior experience 5–10 years in manufacturing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma/BE in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in manufacturing or production environment.
• Exposure to Kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing concepts, and workplace efficiency.
• Basic understanding of production planning, job allotment, and task scheduling.
• Ability to support manpower, machines, and materials on the shop floor.
• Familiarity with safety practices and structured, process-driven production environments.
• Skilled written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shift operations to ensure smooth execution of production plans and optimal resource use.
• Coordinate tasks, manage staff movements during absences, and handle machine issues to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Focus on production volume, efficiency, and on-time delivery; provide feedback to management on line organization and issues.
• Lead shift teams in resolving technical, quality, and logistical challenges while ensuring health and safety compliance.

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you supervise a shift team’s progress against work plans as defined by Production management to ensure the proper use of machinery, equipment and assembly lines within a production area. Cooperate with the unit supervisor to create an effective work environment and reinforce production schedules and quality.

• Shift Operations & Monitoring
  Oversee and coordinate shift activities to ensure smooth execution of production plans, adherence to schedules, and optimal utilization of resources within the production lines.
• Team Coordination & Workforce Management
  Support management in allocating tasks, managing staff movements during absences, machine breakdowns, or shifting priorities, and ensuring uninterrupted operations during the shift.
• Operational Excellence & Performance Metrics
  Ensure focus on production volume, efficiency, and on-time delivery while providing regular feedback and recommendations to management on production line organization and critical issues.
• Quality, Safety & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  Lead shift teams in resolving technical, quality, and logistical challenges, ensuring strict compliance with health and safety policies and maintaining a safe working environment.

Qualifications for the role:

• Qualification: Diploma /BE - in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics engineering.
• Experience Range: 5–10 Years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Production Practices: Exposure to Production Kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing concepts, and workplace efficiency.
• Planning & Execution: Basic understanding of production planning, job allotment, and task scheduling.
• Resource Management: Ability to support effective utilization of manpower, machines, and materials on the shop floor.
• Workplace Discipline: Familiarity with safety practices and structured, process-driven production environments.
