Qualifications

• Knowledge of EHS guidelines and safety practices.
• Experience with machining documents (MOPs, SOPs, drawings, KSL and FMEAs) is an asset.
• Ability to operate conventional machines (lathe, milling) and measurement instruments.
• Lean manufacturing practices like 5S, Kaizen.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily Turbine Rotor assembly operations per ISO:9001 & ISO:19443 with SQDC to meet shift targets.
• Follow EHS guidelines and participate in EHS activities and initiatives.
• Report stop work or concerns related to EHS & Quality and report safety incidents as per guidelines.
• Perform and assign activities in line with regulatory compliance and EHS policy.
• Assess risks & hazards and implement mitigations.
• Undergo required EHS trainings and obtain necessary authorization.
• Ensure contract workers perform activities safely in the area.
• Understand basic EHS guidelines and nuclear safety culture (ITNS-I & A).
• Review machining documents (MOPs, SOPs, drawings, KSL, FMEAs).
• Perform rotor setup on roller and lathe for turning operations and precision measurements.
• Perform seal strip assembly, seal strip turning, blade sequencing, blade assembly, shroud turning, reaming pin roots, cover plate assembly with riveting, drilling, grinding, conventional machine operation.
• Monitor production and adjust tool settings.
• Knowledge of measuring instruments and error checking.
• Knowledge of manual and power tools and troubleshooting.
• Lean practices like 5S, Kaizen and maintain safe clean workplace.
• Teamwork and coordination with operator team and cross-functional teams for uninterrupted production.
• Support other machine shop and assembly teams.

Perform the daily operations of Turbine Rotor assembly in line with ISO:9001 & ISO:19443 along with SQDC approach to achieve shift wise target as per inputs & standard work. Contributes to team efforts in accomplishing the organizational goals.

• Follow Organization EHS guidelines & participate actively in all EHS activities & initiatives.
• Report any stop work or concerns related to EHS & Quality and report all safety incidents as per EHS guidelines.
• Perform & assign activities in line with work specific regulatory compliance and organizational EHS policy.
• Competent for assessment of risks & hazards associated with the task & respective mitigation actions.
• Undergo required EHS trainings to work safely & perform tasks in safe manner. Shall acquire the respective authorization/training before performing an activity.
• Ensure that all Contract workers are performing the assigned activity safely while working with you or nearby area.
• Knowledge about basic EHS guidelines/Environmental aspect and risk related to activities of Turbine Rotor Assembly.
• Understanding of nuclear safety culture and ITNS-I & A (Important To Nuclear Safety- Item & Activity).
• Review and understanding of machining documents like MOPs, SOPs, drawings, KSL and FMEAs.
• Perform rotor set up on roller, lathe machine for turning operations and precise quality measurements as per instructions & requirements.
• Perform Seal Strip Assembly, Seal strip turning, blade sequencing as per blade distribution list, blade assembly, Shroud Turning, reaming operation of pin root, cover plate assembly with Hot & cold riveting operation, manual drilling- tapping, grinding, conventional machine operation (Lathe, milling, PDM), shrink fitting of Auxilary Shaft, hot work and deburring.
• Monitoring of production, adjusting appropriate setting of tool-tackles.
• Knowledge of usage of measuring instruments, error check & its application.
• Knowledge of manual & power tools & its application, trouble shooting of conventional machine.
• Lean approach likes 5S, Kaizen etc and maintain safe & clean workplace.
• Teamwork and Coordination with fellow operator team & cross functional team for uninterrupted Production.
• Support other machine shop team & assembly team.
