Momentive is seeking a Product Stewardship Associate I in Bengaluru, India to join our Global Product Stewardship Team. The role focuses on hazard communication, SDS authoring, labeling, and regulatory compliance, ensuring day-to-day regulatory adherence for materials and products.

You will participate in NPI, product extensions, and translations, while supporting MOC and continuous process improvements and global regulatory updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant science or engineering field.
  • Experience in product stewardship, regulatory compliance or EHS in chemical/related industry.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and update Safety Data Sheets and labels for materials per regional requirements.
  • Provide regulatory approval in product creation and extension workflows.
  • Support material introduction, classifications, and labeling including dangerous goods.
  • Assist SDS creation and maintenance projects; participate in MOC processes.
  • Interact with global customers and suppliers to support hazard communication needs.
  • Learn/regulate regulatory principles across world regions; contribute to process improvements.
  • Establish and report metrics to track compliance and business impact.
  • Be available for global calls and flexible hours to overlap with different time zones.

Product Stewardship Associate I

Summary: We are looking for an Associate to join our Global Product Stewardship Team, who is looking for enriching experience in the area of Hazard communication. This position assures continuity and drives business growth by complying with regulations applicable to the company’s products and business activities. Executes transactional processes as necessary, to ensure day-to-day compliance with applicable hazard communication regulations. Provides an opportunity to be an expert in end-to-end Safety Data Sheet authoring, label generation and maintenance. Participates in the screening of new raw materials and Management of Change (MOC) processes. Provides regulatory approval in the New Product Introduction (NPI), product extension, and product translation processes. This role will provide regulatory support to both internal and external customers, lead/ contribute to development of new concepts, techniques, and standards and ongoing implementation and continuous improvement of product safety, hazard communication, and regulatory processes and system support.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the preparation and update of Safety Data Sheets and labels for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using standard systems and processes as per the regional regulatory requirements.
  • Provides regulatory approval in the material master workflow for product creation, product extension, and product translation processes by ensuring that the regional hazard communication needs have been satisfied.
  • Supports for material introduction (NPI), classifications and labelling (includes dangerous goods classifications after consulting with SME's).
  • Supports execution of projects related to SDS creation and maintenance as identified.
  • Supports change management by initiating Notification of Change (NOC) and participating in Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Interacts with and responds to global customers, suppliers, and other applicable functions in supporting hazard communication and regulatory compliance needs.
  • Gains understanding and application of regulatory principles, concepts, practices and supports necessary actions related to changing chemical regulations in various world regions.
  • Establishes, manages, and/or reports metrics for work and/or tie into global reporting to assure progress with respect to compliance and business growth is measured and communicated.
  • Position requires availability for global calls and interactions, may have to be open to flexible working hours to overlap with the business day in case of supporting different time zones.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's of Engineering / Pharmacy / Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Life Science, Industrial Hygiene or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2-4 years' relevant experience in the chemical or related industry in the area of Product Stewardship and Regulatory Compliance / Environmental Health and Safety / Occupational Safety and Industrial Hygiene or other applicable experience.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Computer literate in standard office systems, SDS authoring platforms.
