Job summary

Groww in Bengaluru is seeking a prod-support engineer to maintain internal applications across data centers. You will analyze issues, fix low-complexity bugs, and work with developers to resolve more complex problems, while meeting customer SLAs.

You must have 3+ years in production support, strong SQL skills, scripting in Python or Shell, Linux basics, and familiarity with cron; Java experience is a plus and excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in production support.
• Exposure to MySQL and SQL queries.
• Automation scripting with Python or Shell.
• Understanding Linux/Unix and cron.
• Prior programming experience; Java preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of internal application behavior and tech operations across data centers and applications.
• Analyze problems, diagnose and fix bugs of low complexity when appropriate.
• Work with developers to identify and resolve more complicated problems.
• Address urgent issues quickly, work within and measure against customer SLAs.
• Adapt installer, shell scripts and perl scripts and aggressively automate manual tasks through scripting.
• Provide feedback from customers/ users to the team. Finding recurring issues, problem solving and getting it fixed.
• Maintain on-going record of problem analysis and resolution activity in an on-call tracking system.
• Proactively monitors production and non-production environments and applications.
• Develop smaller complexity features and utilities in existing system components to enhance productivity.

What are we looking for :

• Good exposure to MySQL and writing SQL queries
• Automation scripting: More advanced tools preferred; Ex: Python, Shell.
• A prior experience in production support.
• Understanding of linux/unix basic commands and job scheduling (cron)
• Good to have prior programming experience; Java preferred
• Good written and oral communication skills
