Job summary

Finzly, a fintech solutions provider, seeks a Business Analyst with deep payments domain expertise to lead requirements for ACH, wires, and ISO 20022, and drive transformation across payment operations.

You will collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to ensure regulatory compliance, define technical specs, and coordinate testing to deliver measurable improvements in processing efficiency and risk controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Business Analyst in US payments (ACH, Wires, RTP, SWIFT, ISO 20022).
• Experience with BRD/FRD, user stories, and requirement gathering.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance rules in payments.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document payment requirements for ACH, Fedwire, SWIFT, RTP, and ISO 20022.
• Define use cases and specs, map messages, and ensure smooth payment solution implementations.
• Coordinate testing (UAT), defect management, and QA validation of payment formats.
• Provide dashboards and reports on payment trends, efficiency, and compliance risk.

We are seeking a Product Owner to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in banking and financial applications, with expertise in ACH, Wire Transfers (Fedwire & SWIFT), RTP, ISO 20022 messaging, and other payment rails. This role requires experience in requirement gathering, process optimization, system testing coordination, and product ownership to support payment operations, compliance, and digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Payments System Analysis & Implementation

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for ACH, Fedwire, SWIFT, RTP, and ISO 20022 payment processing.
• Define use cases and functional specifications for payment-related features.
• Collaborate with stakeholders (Product Owners, Developers, QA, and Operations) to ensure smooth implementation of payment solutions.
• Work with ISO 20022 message structures, mapping legacy formats to new standard messages for Fedwire Funds Service and international transactions.

Process Optimization & Compliance

• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements in ACH, Wire, and Real-Time Payments workflows.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including NACHA rules, FinCEN Travel Rule, and Fedwire guidelines.
• Support fraud detection, risk mitigation, and AML compliance in payment operations.
• Define test scenarios and perform UAT coordination for payment system enhancements.
• Work closely with QA teams to validate payment message formats (pacs.008, pacs.004, camt messages, etc.).
• Monitor and resolve defects related to payment processing.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting

• Act as a liaison between business and technology teams to define and prioritize payment initiatives.
• Provide detailed reports and dashboards on payment transaction trends, operational efficiency, and compliance risks.
• Develop and deliver training materials for end-users on new payment functionalities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical & Domain Expertise

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in US payments (ACH, Wires, RTP, SWIFT, ISO 20022).
• Deep understanding of Fedwire, SWIFT, ACH, and RTP processing.
• Experience in ISO 20022 payment messages and cross-border payment processing.
• Proficiency in SWIFT MT and MX message formats.
• Knowledge of payment system integrations, APIs, and core banking platforms.

Business Analysis & Project Management

• Strong requirement gathering & documentation skills (BRD, FRD, User Stories).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology and JIRA/Confluence.
• Hands-on experience in defect management, UAT coordination, and test case validation.
• Ability to analyze data and create reports using SQL, Excel, and BI tools.

Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge

• Knowledge of NACHA rules, Fedwire requirements, FinCEN Travel Rule, OFAC screening.
• Understanding of AML, fraud detection, and compliance controls in payment operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Payment’s certifications (e.g., AAP, CTP, SWIFT Certified Specialist, PMI-PBA).
• Experience working with banks, fintechs, or payment processors
• Familiarity with FedNow, Zelle, or other instant payment platforms.
