Job summary

Institut Straumann AG is seeking a Product Owner to translate business needs into clear technical requirements and manage the product backlog. You will collaborate with engineering, UX/UI, QA, and business teams to ensure delivery of high-quality software aligned with the roadmap.

You will lead agile ceremonies, write precise user stories, and maintain documentation while balancing regulatory considerations. A multi-cultural environment and strong stakeholder engagement are expected.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Product Owner or Product Management experience.
• Experience in Agile environments with backlog refinement, sprint planning, and stakeholder management.
• Experience in software development, system architecture, APIs, cloud platforms, or DevOps; prior developer background is a plus.
• Proven ability to collaborate with engineering, UX/UI, QA and business teams to deliver technical products.
• Experience translating business needs into technical requirements for technical teams.
• Able to work in a multi-cultural environment with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Primary Position Objectives

TheProduct Ownerwill play a keypartin generatingtechnicalsoftware requirements for development teamsandfacilitatingrelease cycles. They will:

• UnderstandIDTproducts and services, andhow to translate requirements into well-defined user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate Agile Development and Delivery, ensuring smooth sprint execution
• Work closely with Product Managers and Engineering teams to ensure the roadmap aligns with technical capabilities and constraints

Key responsibilities

Product Development and Backlog Management

• Create andmaintaina detailedsoftwarebacklog with clear prioritiesaligned with Product Management and Software teams.
• Write user stories with clear acceptance criteria and work with development teams to ensureaccurateimplementation.
• Lead agile meetings like sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Become a subject matter expert,facilitatedemosto different teams when necessary.
• Maintain software product documentation, accounting for regulatory and best practices.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with development, marketing, sales, and quality teams to ensure smooth product development and launches.
• Facilitate product testing and validation to ensure technical requirements and user needs are met.
• Ensuretimelydelivery of features that meet quality standards and business goals.

Your profile

• 3 – 5 years ofProduct Owner or ProductManagement, hands-on experience managing software development projects and working with engineering teams.
• Experience working in Agile environments, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and stakeholder management.
• Experience in software development, system architecture, APIs, cloud platforms, or DevOps. Prior experience as a developer, engineer, or technical business analyst is a plus.
• Proven ability to work closely with engineering, UX/UI, QA, and business teams to deliver technical products.
• Experience engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business needs into technical requirements.
• Able to work in a multi-cultural environment, balancing the needs of different stakeholders.

Your skills

• Managing Atlassian Cloud, Azure DevOps, or similar
• Understanding ofAPIs, microservices, databases, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding ofScrum, Kanban,SAFeframeworks.
• Problem solving and critical thinking, ability to break down complex technicalissuesand work with teams to find solutions.
• Strong communicationskills, translating technical concepts for non-technicalstakeholdersand vice versa.
• Influencing engineering teams, aligning stakeholders, and making trade-off decisions.

Academic

• English C1 + any otherEuropeanlanguages
• Bachelors in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, ora relatedtechnical field.
