Job summary

Ascend Capital, a fast‑growing NBFC focused on commercial EV finance in India, seeks an operations leader to own and optimize core processes on the ground. You will map priorities into concrete plans, build SOPs, dashboards, and PRDs, and collaborate across ops, risk, tech, and sales to remove bottlenecks.

You’ll drive measurable improvements in onboarding, credit approval, and servicing workflows while maintaining a customer‑first mindset and high ownership.

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years experience in operations, product/tech support, consulting, fintech/NBFC, program execution, or a high‑ownership startup role.
  • Strong analytical reasoning; can use data + qualitative signals to diagnose root causes and recommend fixes.
  • High ownership and bias for action; comfortable with ambiguity and driving closure.
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; comfortable building basic MIS, trackers, and simple dashboards. (Bonus: SQL/BI familiarity.)
  • Show a willingness to learn unfamiliar areas of the business and apply feedback.
  • Clear communicator: can write crisp updates, run follow-ups, and align cross‑functional teams.
  • Customer‑first mindset: cares about reducing customer friction and improving reliability of journeys.

Responsibilities

  • Translate priorities into execution plans (owners, timelines, dependencies) and run follow-ups until closure.
  • Map and improve operational workflows across onboarding, credit approval, documentation, disbursement, servicing, and collections/support handoffs.
  • Identify bottlenecks and repeated errors; run root‑cause analysis and implement practical fixes that reduce delays and rework.
  • Build and maintain SOPs, checklists, and templates; drive adoption so teams actually use them consistently on the ground.
  • Build simple dashboards/MIS for operational metrics (TAT, drop‑offs, approval rates, exceptions, customer issues) and surface actions for stakeholders.
  • Work closely with ops, credit/risk, tech, sales, customer support, and collections to unblock execution.
  • Gather and synthesize customer feedback and internal signals; convert themes into measurable improvement initiatives.
  • Track operational risks (process gaps, compliance misses, dependency risks) and drive mitigation plans with clear owners and timelines.
  • Improve workflows by identifying the causes of recurring delays, errors and rework, then implementing practical fixes.
  • Write product requirement documents (PRDs) that define workflows, requirements and expected outcomes for new processes, products or system changes.

About the Role

This is primarily an operations management role with responsibility for improving existing processes and building new capabilities. As Ascend Capital grows, you will also have opportunities to establish and lead new functions.

  • Map and improve operational workflows across key journeys: onboarding, credit approval, documentation, disbursement, servicing, and collections/support handoffs.
  • Identify bottlenecks and repeated errors; run root‑cause analysis and implement practical fixes that reduce delays and rework.
  • Build and maintain SOPs, checklists, and templates; drive adoption so teams actually use them consistently on the ground.

  • Write product requirement documents (PRDs) that define workflows, requirements and expected outcomes for new processes, products or system changes.
Requirements
  • 0-3 years experience in operations, product/tech support, consulting, fintech/NBFC, program execution, or a high‑ownership startup role.
  • Strong analytical reasoning: can use data + qualitative signals to diagnose root causes and recommend fixes.

About Ascend Capital

Ascend Capital is a leader in commercial EV finance in India, and we are building the largest company in the category. We are an RBI‑registered, profitable NBFC headquartered in Jaipur with a book of around Rs 300 crore, backed by leading venture investors and growing faster than anyone in our segment.

We finance commercial EVs through a network present across multiple states in north and central India. Founded by IIT/IIM alumni with backgrounds at global banks, Ascend combines the discipline of a large financial institution with the speed and ambition of a company still in its early years.

This is a fast‑moving, execution‑heavy company. The work is on the ground and it is demanding, and people here are trusted with real responsibility early. We are growing quickly, new branches and territories open every quarter, and the people who lead them come from inside the company.

We are looking for people who learn fast, work hard, adapt quickly, take ownership of their numbers and want to build something. If that describes you, we want to talk to you.

Why Join Us
  • Learn how a financial institution is built and run, end to end, rather than seeing only one part of the business.
  • Report directly to the Founder and work closely with the leadership team.
  • Contribute to our ambition to build Indias largest EV financing company.
  • Access opportunities for faster career progression as the company scales and creates new roles.
