Job description

A payment gateway that actually works the same whether you're checking out on a website, tapping a Soundbox, or charging your EV. Nobody's built that yet. We're hiring the PM who will.

Hey All,

AndPayments is building the next-generation payments stack for Indian businesses — and eventually, for businesses everywhere that need India-grade payments infrastructure. Payments, RegTech, B2B SaaS, Prepaid Instruments — one deliberate stack, built together, not stitched together.

We're hiring a Product Manager – Payment Gateway to solve a problem that's genuinely unsolved in the Indian market.

Here's the gap we're closing:

Payments don't happen in one place anymore. A customer might pay on your website, on your app, at a POS terminal in-store, at a transit gate, or at an EV charging station — often through completely different instruments each time. Most gateway products were built for one of these channels and stretched awkwardly to cover the rest. The result? Fragmented acceptance, inconsistent checkout, and authorization rates that swing wildly depending on where the transaction happens.

Nobody has built a coherent acceptance stack that works consistently from a merchant website to an Android POS to an EV charger. That's the gap this role exists to close.

What you'll own:
  • Card processing — scheme integrations (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay), tokenization, EMV 3DS 2.0, passkeys, recurring/mandate architecture
  • The full omni-channel acceptance layer — website, Android POS, Soundbox, Mobile POS, transit, EV charging, and whatever channel comes next
  • Intelligent routing & orchestrations across acquirers and processors to optimize authorization rates and cost
  • Chargeback and dispute management, designed for merchant clarity and platform protection
  • Authorization rate optimization as a measurable, experiment-driven product outcome — not a hunch
  • Fraud monitoring integration, working directly with risk models and decisioning systems
  • Compliance as a design constraint from day one — PCI-DSS, scheme mandates, RBI regulations
What we need from you:
  • 8+ years of PM experience, with 5+ specifically at a payment aggregator, gateway, acquiring bank, card network, or processor
  • Deep knowledge of card processing flows — authorization, clearing, settlement, reversals, across online, card-present, and unattended environments
  • Real command of authentication flows — EMV 3DS 2.0, passkeys, native OTP — and how they shape conversion
  • Hands-on scheme integration experience (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay) and the discipline to maintain compliance programs
  • Strong grip on tokenization — guest checkout, card-on-file, device tokens
  • A track record of building or improving recurring payment products — mandates, retries, the messy failure modes that make this genuinely hard
  • Working PCI-DSS knowledge and its product implications
  • Proven authorization-rate improvements through structured experimentation, not intuition
  • Writing that's sharp enough to act on without a rewrite
  • Real ownership instincts — you treat your product area like your business

Bonus points for: omni-channel acceptance experience (POS, unattended, transit/EV), UPI acceptance flows, alternate payment methods (BNPL, EMI, wallets, net banking), fraud vendor integration, routing/orchestration design, or the ability to read scheme bulletins and RBI circulars without a translator.

Why this role is worth your time:

You'll have direct ownership of a product that touches every transaction we process, across every channel and instrument we support. You'll work with a small team with no room for passengers and zero tolerance for theatre — and you'll get access to scheme relationships, regulatory channels, and engineering bandwidth that most PMs at this company stage never see.

If you've spent years knowing exactly what's broken about payment gateways and never had the authority to fix it — this is that chance.
