Job summary

PayU is seeking an Associate Product Manager for the Lending Platform to steer product strategy for personal loans, KYC, onboarding, and origination systems. You will own requirements, coordinate with engineering and compliance, and drive API-based platform solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will work closely with customers and internal teams to translate needs into features, analyze market trends, and manage the product lifecycle from concept through sprint deployment.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech from premier institute and MBA from Tier 1 or Tier 2 college in India.
• Minimum 3+ years of product management experience in lending/fintech.
• Strong understanding of software development and web technologies.
• Hands-on SQL and DB tools for cross-platform SQL/NoSQL interaction.
• Hands-on UX tooling (Figma) and AI tools for prototyping.
• Experience with BRE and credit underwriting processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and prioritize product requirements and roadmaps for the platform.
• Hands-on work with databases to map data flow and solutions for business/compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering, QA, design, operations, customer service and compliance teams to scale personal loans features.
• Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities for platform enhancements.
• Define and analyze metrics to drive success of product shipments.
• Engage with customers and internal teams to gather feedback and align with strategy.
• Coordinate with other PMs and stakeholders to ensure cohesive product strategy and manage lifecycle from concept to sprint.

Job Title: Associate Product Manager – Lending Platform

Job Overview:

As a Product Manager for our platform, you will be responsible for the strategic development as well as revenue , growth and compliance related product shipments for Personal loans products. You will be the core pillar in our lending journey and will be responsible for scaling lending platform modules like Loan origination systems, KYC , user onboarding and drive API based lending platform solutions and integrations . You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, oversee product development, and ensure successful product launches that meet customer needs within the regulated framework.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Define and prioritize product requirements and roadmaps for the platform, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Hands on work on database to understand the product data flow and come up with solutions to solve for business, operations and compliance requirements
• Collaborate with engineering, QA, design, operations, customer service and compliance teams to develop and launch new features to scale and sustain personal loans business.
• Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities for platform enhancement.
• Define and analyse metrics that will drive the success of these product shipments.
• Engage closely with customers and internal teams to gather and address feedback.
• Coordinate with other product managers and stakeholders to ensure cohesiveness of the overall product strategy.
  Manage the product lifecycle from concept to sprint executions to roll out while operating across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

• B.E or B.Tech from premier institute & MBA from Tier 1 or Tier 2 college in India.
• Minimum 3+ years of product management experience, preferably in a Lending domain in Banks/NBFCs or fintechs.
• Strong understanding of software development processes and web technologies.
• Hands on SQL and DB tools like DataGrip,TablePlus, andDBeaverfor cross-platform SQL/NoSQL interaction.
• Hands on UX building tools like Figma & AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude Code for building quick journeys.
• Preferred experience with Business Rules Engines (BRE) and a decent understanding of credit underwriting processes, repayments and collections.

Required Skills:

• Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and develop comprehensive, data-driven product plans. Must be able to identify long-term opportunities and challenges while balancing short-term needs.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong technical acumen with an understanding of software architecture, data systems, and modern software development practices. Familiarity with APIs, cloud services, and scalable platforms is highly desirable.
• User-Centric Design: Experience with user-centred design principles and practices. Ability to work closely with UX/UI teams to ensure the product meets high usability standards and addresses user pain points effectively.
• Analytical Skills: Proficient in using analytics tools to monitor success metrics and make data-driven decisions. Ability to interpret complex data and turn insights into actionable changes.
• Project Management: Excellent project management skills, including the ability to define project scopes, allocate resources, manage timelines, and mitigate risks. Experience with JIRA/Agile and Scrum methodologies is must.
• Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively at all levels of the organization. Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Adaptability: High adaptability in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment. Must be comfortable with ambiguity and able to pivot strategies quickly based on new information.

Preferred Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven ability to develop product strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to senior management.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and a solid understanding of database management and querying.
• Knowledge of Loan Origination Systems and Loan Management Systems, with the ability to leverage these platforms to enhance product functionality and user experience.
