Overview

Join to apply for the Product Manager II role at Microsoft. You will help build the resilient foundation that powers Microsoft Azure. As a Product Manager II on the Azure Core – Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) team, you’ll deliver scalable solutions that protect critical infrastructure and services across Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), databases, and cloud-native platforms. You’ll collaborate across engineering and customer-facing teams to elevate resiliency standards and shape unified management experiences. You’ll gain deep expertise in cross-region and zonal resiliency, ransomware recovery strategies, and scalable backup and site recovery systems—developing solutions that directly impact global cloud reliability. You will own a slice of the Azure BCDR customer problem space—from problem definition and PRD/roadmap to execution with engineering and launch/landing with customers and field. You’ll drive clarity from ambiguity, validate solutions with data and customers, steward livesite, and iterate quickly to deliver resilient, compliant, and usable experiences.

Responsibilities

• Own a customer problem area in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR)—for example, zonal/region recovery workflows, ransomware-safe backups, posture, and drills—and deliver clear PRDs, OKRs, and roadmaps aligned to Azure Core quality and resiliency goals.
• Translate customer and regulatory needs—such as Recovery Time Objective (RTO), Recovery Point Objective (RPO), test failover, and evidence—into platform features and guidance, partnering across product groups and other stakeholders like Finance, Field, Business Planning, and Support.
• Drive end-to-end scenario design for backup, restore, replication, and recovery—including cross-zone/region patterns—and validate with telemetry, experiments, and customer previews.
• Partner with engineering to plan, deliver, and safely roll out features using Azure Core safe-deployment practices; ensure Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) definitions and instrumentation support customer outcomes.
• Own live-site quality for your scenarios and post-incident learning to improve patterns and product guardrails.
• Land the product with customers and field: content, demos, and best-practice guidance aligned to the Well-Architected Framework (WAF) reliability pillar and BCDR essentials.
• Collaborate across Azure—including Compute, Storage, Networking, Security/Defender, and Data—to unblock dependencies and deliver cohesive experiences at scale.
• Contribute to Product Management craft with crisp writing, storyboards, data-informed decisions, and inclusive collaboration.

Qualifications

• Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years experience shipping cloud platform or enterprise features end-to-end (backlog→PRD→delivery) with engineering/design and measurable customer impact.
• 2+ years working knowledge of BCDR or reliability concepts (e.g., RTO/RPO, test failover, cross-zone/region patterns) and ability to translate them into customer experiences and docs.
• 2+ years of data-driven decision making (telemetry/experiments, field/customer feedback) and strong written communication skills.

• Other Requirements:
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements. These include, but are not limited to, the Microsoft Cloud Background Check, required upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

• Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
• 1+ year(s) of experience with Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, or adjacent resiliency experiences.
• 1+ year(s) exposure to security and ransomware recovery concepts (immutability, cleanroom recovery, threat-informed restores).
• 1+ year(s) of hands-on proficiency with IaaS/Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)/Database scenarios or platform services that require high availability and disaster recovery.
• 1+ year(s) of demonstrated ability collaborating across Compute/Storage/Networking/Security platform teams and with field/customer stakeholders.
