ABOUTTHE ROLE
The TechnicalProduct Manager – Digital Forensics will own the strategy, roadmap, andexecution of Innefu Labs' digital forensics product line, working at theintersection of law enforcement operations, forensic science, and technology —translating complex investigative needs into powerful, court-admissibleforensic tools. This requires understanding the full forensic lifecycle, fromevidence acquisition and preservation through analysis, correlation, andreporting, and ensuring the product supports each stage with precision, integrity, and legal defensibility.

- Own the end-to-end product roadmap acrossMobile Device, Computer/Disk, Network, Cloud, Memory/RAM, Social Media &OSINT, Dark Web, and IoT & Drone forensics.
- Conduct market and competitive analysisagainst leading global platforms — Cellebrite UFED, Oxygen Forensics, MagnetAXIOM, EnCase, FTK, X-Ways Forensics, and MSAB XRY — to identify white space inIndian and emerging-market law enforcement forensics.
- Develop a 3–5 year product vision aligned withcompany growth and evolving agency requirements; prioritize based oninvestigative impact, legal admissibility, technical feasibility, and clienturgency.
- Establish a structured build-vs-buy-vs-partnerframework for evaluating new capabilities.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as primary product liaison with forensiclabs, cyber cells, and investigative agencies, translating casework workflowsinto product features.
- Collaborate with Legal & Compliance toensure outputs meet evidentiary standards; partner with Sales, Pre-Sales, andBD on RFP responses, demos, and POC deployments.
- Present roadmap and release plans to CXOleadership and senior government client stakeholders.
Technical Ownership
- Write technically precise PRDs, functionalspecs, system design documents, and user stories that leave no room forambiguity in engineering execution.
- Mobile OS forensics — iOS (Secure Enclave, keychain) and Android (FBE/FDE, Keystore); extraction methods spanning logical, file system, physical, chip-off, EDL, and JTAG/ISP
- Forensic image formats — E01, AFF4, DD/RAW,UFDR
- Hash verification & chain of custody —MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256
- Encryption challenges — BitLocker, FileVault,LUKS, VeraCrypt, and E2E messaging (WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram)
- App-level forensics — UPI apps, banking apps, crypto wallets, social media apps
- Define integration requirements for forensichardware (write blockers, JTAG/ISP, EDL tools, Faraday bags), externaldatabases (CCTNS, NAFIS, NCRB, Interpol), Argus correlation modules, and CourtManagement Systems.
- Own API design, data schemas, and cross-moduledata exchange standards; maintain product architecture documentation for scale.
Execution & Delivery
- Lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies — sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, retrospectives — with engineering, QA, and DevOps.
- Maintain a well-prioritized backlog withdetailed acceptance criteria for every story.
- Track KPIs: extraction success rate bydevice/OS, processing speed for disk images and mobile dumps, artifact recoveryaccuracy, report generation time and format compliance, and systemstability/uptime.
- Manage UAT and field trials with examiners atagency locations; resolve critical issues before production deployment.
- Coordinate releases, patch management, andversion control aligned to agency deployment schedules; maintain a continuouslyupdated device compatibility matrix.
AI & Automation in Forensics
- Partner with Data Science and AI/ML teams tobuild:
- Automated timeline reconstruction acrossfragmented digital artifacts
- NLP-based chat/document analysis across Indianlanguages (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Urdu, Marathi, etc.) and social mediavernacular
- Image and video classification — CSAM,extremist content, narcotics imagery, counterfeit documents
- Malware identification and behaviouralanalysis from memory dumps and disk images
- Voice and audio forensics — speakeridentification, transcription, language detection
- Predictive linking to known criminal profilesand historical case data in Argus
- Automated draft report generation withexaminer review workflows
- Define model accuracy benchmarks andhuman-verification thresholds before AI-generated insights are used ininvestigation or court; ensure all outputs remain explainable, auditable, andlegally defensible.
Compliance, Chain of Custody& Legal Integrity
- Enforce unbreakable chain of custody:tamper-evident action logging, cryptographic hashing (MD5 + SHA-256) at everystage, immutable append-only audit trails exportable in court-accepted formats, and role-based access control.
- Ensure write-protection enforcement duringacquisition workflows to prevent evidence contamination.
- Design court-admissible reports with examinercredentials/digital signature, tool name/version/build, stage-wise hash values,methodology documentation, and timestamps/system logs.
- Track Indian digital evidence law (BSA 2023,BNSS 2023, DPDPA 2023) and international standards (ISO/IEC 27037/27041/27042,ACPO Guidelines, NIST SP 800-86); support certifications such as NIST CFTT,STQC, and agency-mandated accreditation.
